IU gets 7 in the 2nd, lead 7-4 going to B3

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Indiana used its highest-scoring inning of the season to sweep its Friday doubleheader at the Snowbird Baseball Classic, winning its evening game vs. Dartmouth, 8-6.

IU also topped Villanova, 4-3, on Friday and has won three straight games, its longest streak of the season.

Indiana and Dartmouth combined for 13 runs between the second and fourth innings, only scoring one the rest of the way.

The Hoosiers piled on seven runs in the bottom of the second inning for a 7-0 advantage, recording eight of their 13 hits in the frame. Four of Indiana's runs came with two outs.

Will Nolden singled to make it 2-0 with runners on the corners and no outs.

After Scott Donley (RBI) and Sowers (RBI) to score seven.

Luke Harrison closed out the final four innings, allowing zero runs, as IU held on for the win. Harrison earned the save.

Sowers scored IU's final run in the seventh inning on a stolen base after Nolden stole second.

The reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Week ripped off a team-high three hits for the second time in three games, matching his career best, while Dedelow, Hartong, Cangelosi and Nolden each had a pair.

The series finale between Indiana and College of Charleston is pegged for Sunday, March 1, at Noon ET. The game can be listened to online at IUHoosiers.com.

••• Logan Sowers had three hits for the second time in three games and scored twice, matching career highs.

••• Christian Morris' seven strikeouts were a career high and the most by a Hoosier this season.

••• IU's 10 total strikeouts matched a season high.

••• The Hoosiers have stolen three or more bases in three games this season and are 14-for-15 in 2015.

••• Luke Harrison picked up the save for Indiana, his first of the season and fourth of his career.

••• Seven different Hoosiers notched RBIs in the win.
