IU basketball

Wison was a PITA the first day he stayed on campus. He caused a lot of shit for Fred to clean up.

I personally liked Wilson and thought he was a good football guy, but it's clear he had a ceiling as HC. Fred saw a leader in Allen and a way to get rid of a problem. Wilson had enough strikes against him that it wasn't hard to find a way to get him out, whether it was the lawsuits or his drinking escapades.

That happens all the time in college athletics and, as has been mentioned, if Wilson was winning 8 games a year, all would have been overlooked.

Wilson saw the writing on the wall and knew he at least was violating whatever morals clause he had in his contract. He also knew he could get another job as OC. So he took the settlement and walked, knowing Fred had him by the balls if it came to a lawsuit.

Oh I remember his dorm story. I always wondered why we could either get a good defensive game or a good offensive team but never both. I think one of his games we scored with under a minute to lead and still couldn’t hold them. Fun offense tho

The playing hurt was just an excuse. Being the town lush and running around on his wife did him in.

Bloomington is a small town.
We (you and I) are in lock step on almost all things, but whoring has nothing to do with Football, its on his own time and no one's business but him and his wife. I'm neither dismissing nor condoning such behavior. But it has nothing to do with football.
IU "small town" Bloomington needs to get over its holier than thou, front pew sitting, judgmental, west coast infiltrated bullshit.
Just win!

So the more I’ve thought about it, here’s where I stand:
1. Beard: He has had real success and brought two different programs up in level. He is the only candidate mentioned where I feel the odds are good that IU will be back on the national map. On his past, it’s 2025 and CBB is a professional sport. Being self righteous about purity will only hold us back and guarantee we remain mediocre. The last of those dusty banners says 1987.

2. McCollum: unlike Beard, this could be a total failure. Archie 2.0 possibility. That is my concern, but he’s young, can coach, and at least provides hope. It’s high risk high reward.

3. No one else. Brownell or McDermott or Brey are incredibly uninspiring hires. It’s going to a great restaurant and ordering white bread toast. I’ve been a casual fan for over a decade now because IU quit caring about basketball and I decided to do the same. Hire one of these type of guys and that won’t change for me.
I think Indiana needs to blaze a trail within college basketball. So I submit a pick that FarvaisFineNowinGooglyGoo will love:

You missed my point that winning would have made all that moot.

He didn't win enough. Therefore, that shit is amplified.

Knock off the misdirection, Brad, it’s known you’re the next coach. Why else would Vegas have gone from +5000 to +2500 to locked today on your odds to be the guy?

Then why are crimson cashmere shawl-collared cardigans, with a white IU logo on the left breast, appearing on-line?

You got the $13,000,000, the big house in Carmel and the helicopter to get you back and forth, didn’t you?

I know you wrote that first sentence in jest, but think how great it would be to have one of those to wear in the winter during IU basketball season?

The Big 12 has a long storied history of lush coaches. Bob Huggins, Eddie Sutton, why do you think Bill Self had a heart attack at 59?

My older brother was a Jayhawk, stories of walking into a bar and seeing Self there putting them back alone are regular. Why do you think he’s best friends with Huggins?

Mark Few is a lush.

What do they all have in common aside from the drinking?

Hall of Famers.

Comfort wear for old grads looks like an untapped market.

I've found only two IU cardigans. And one of them looks like a contestant for a bad sweater party. Old ass alumni need something other than the latest athletic wear or street people looking sweatshirts
Bingo.

“promote”

Very problematic, UncleMark. Please report to the DEI Office for your struggle session.
She makes about 1.25 million and this year her and Woodson have very similar tournament resumes but the past couple her seasons were far better. So it isn't because of production. Yes, it would be a promotion. No, it will not happen nor should it.

So, IU was left out of the tournament. I don’t think many people wanted to see this shit show go on any longer, but they still got screwed by being left out for UNC.

Good news is we can get on with hiring a coach. It coujd very well be a Mick- as in McDermott, McCollum, or McCasland. In Gaelic, Mc means “son of”. Let’s just hope we aren’t calling the coach McBich (that’s a real surname in Scots/Ireland) in a few years. 😊

I'll be excited with McCollum, disappointed but okay with McDermott, and don't know ebough about McCasland to have an opinion.

If it's Brownell I'm done. But it won't be... that's a troll job or a power play by his agent.

Imagine paying these kids for that 🤣. What’s the ballo kid pouting about? It’s been reported he got paid 7 figures to do this? Please. The fans should be vicious. They’re just hired mercenaries anyway. Shitty pros

Being upset or frustrated is fine, that's part of being a fan. Death threats? Anyone that doesn't see that as a problem needs to be tested for being psychotic.

I didn’t hear that part but agreed. If it’s credible. It’s only a game. Tho I suspect it’s the same in certain cities/ franchises for pros. He’s a pro. No different than a Philadelphia eagle

At first glance I see McCollum as Greg Guard 2.0, McDermott as Brad Underwood 2.0, and McCasland as John Beilein 2.0.

Of course, McCollum coujd also be Kelvin Sampson or Bo Ryan. Or Todd Lichliter.🤔 I think he’s going to Iowa, anyway.
