IU basketball

Two way street. School is taking a risk guaranteeing a huge amount of money to a coach, they want to ensure they won't be able to also easily bolt.
why did woodson have a buyout at all? much less a large one

even if he'd been successful , who would want to hire him? where else would he go?

more IU doing IU things

Maybe we could suck some money out of them. Change the name of assembly hall to farmhouse arena!
Doing an exterior makeover of Assembly Hall to make it look like a giant modern white farmhouse would be awesome.
Imagine the giant front porch!

I think you're on the right track but to stay true to our INDIANA roots we'll need to go with weathered barn wood on the exterior and a multiple terraced Hickory High style interior... 😎

I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Scott May told an interviewer that he was at the IU-Ohio State BB game, being recruited for football (as a TE, I believe). He said he was in the balcony and had a good view of the plays being run. He said, watching the motion offense (that would have been Knight's first year), that he was enthralled with the offense and decided then to go to IU.
Knight didn’t run motion until midway thru Mays sophomore year

I guess motion could be taken any manner of way. He definitely changed mid-way thru his third year here to take advantage of his shooters.
He also moved Isiah to center when we beat UNC for the title in '81. He was flexible, but he's always run motion.

He ran Pete Newell’s reverse action at Army and his first 2.5 years here. If we want to call that motion…I have no problem with that but the principles were changed for the ‘74 team. What that morphed into is what we all generally consider Knight’s motion offense. A lot of coaches tried to duplicate but were not stubborn enough to see it thru
