An absolutely huge game. Students aren’t back on campus. Rutgers has talent and plays hard. We can’t afford to lose home games given our meh pre-conference. Glad I have Peacock!
I want IU to win but unfortunately I think I will have to take the points on the money side of the equation 😬🤨
I understand fully. I can now watch IU with a purely analytical eye. There are no bad results, and as the opponent makes a run I feel no nerves.
Rutgers plays hard. I think that is enough to tell me what's going to happen.
Pikiell has had quite a lot of success against Woodson and IU. Obviously this is a game we need, and its a game we should win at home...but I wouldn't bet a nickel on that happening. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat them, maybe even handily. But I also wouldn't be surprised if they beat us, maybe even handily.
More of a reflection that Rutgers doesn't gaurd anyone. Plenty of talent, but this year thier defense has been even worse than IU.
As a Rutgers fan this is what concerns me about the portal/NIL era. It's terrible for system coaches who have to school 5 new guys every year practically. I'm just hoping we improve enough as the season goes on but by then it may be too late.
Pikiell has proven his teams usually are gritty and defend. I would suspect he'll have them doing that better, by years end. As you said though, it could be too late if they don't start doing it soon. I'd prefer they waited until after tonight...but IU has become somewhat of a grudge match, for whatever reason, for Rutgers. And we know Harper is gonna be ready to play.
If we lose there will be a story about fans turning on Woodson. Promise that. Vocals are primed for booing. Also primed to tell Harper to eat a dixk. Go Hoosiers piss on New Jersey trash.
Fans will need to question CMW's performance and actions. Sure doesn't seem like any of the reporters will!

Rutgers is rated the worst defense in the BT by Pomeroy. IU is at #11. IU has played in the BT 3 of the worst offenses, Minny at #18, Nebr at #14 and tonight Rutgers at #12. IU offense is #11. Pretty soft so far!

Yes, at the Palestra, which normally I would assume helps us, as I'd think there would be more IU fans in attendance in Philly vs Happy Valley. I think the interest level is as low as I've ever seen it from Hoosier Nation however.
He didn't play but Bailey had the opportunity under the bright lights and showed what he is capable of. Hummel spent a lot of time comparing him to Durant and I can see that. The fighting Snookies just didn't have much behind him while IU rallied and played very well.
