It isn’t in NPR

Wallowing in the gutter, congratulations . When you can’t think of something funny, one can always get a laugh at the WC by making fun of gay people or trannies. Guaranteed!
I’m not wallowing in the gutter. I’m gently making fun of McMurt for blaming Biden for Pete’s home breastfeeding.

Trump deserves plenty of blame for many things. Polarization is one of them (and many in the GOP are happy with that, calling the moderates RINOs).

But the portion of journalists who threw away integrity because they thought Trump so so evil and such a danger did something worse to our country than polarization did/is doing, in my mind.

For example, the comparison to Hitler is just laughably stupid, yet I think many journalists and progressives really believe it (I’ve heard it from otherwise intelligent lawyers and professionals where I live) and think they are “saving democracy” in what they are doing.

None of them realized (and still won’t admit) that the predictable backlash would be “well, they spent the last 4 years calling him Hitler and undermining him, why wouldn’t they cheat to defeat him?”

No one had a bad word to say about Biden? As good a man as God ever created?

Are you kidding me? You surely can’t believe that.

Calling those on the right "Nazis" and those on the left "Socialists" and " Communists" is really both old and silly labeling/name calling from where I sit.

What is more recent is the level of hatred which goes with the name calling. IMO the social media contributes greatly to this, and is more believable in the minds of a high percentage of people who many years ago wrote off the mainstream media along with NPR.

To be fair, there are plenty on the left that are now socialists and were in the past. I was one.

Of course it is. His incessant attacks on “maga” are attacking millions of Americans. He is president over. He’s as divisive as anyone. And hell so are the progressives
https://apnews.com/article/state-of...keaways-2023-7e4aaa861e13f87c499dca512037cdbe He finally figured out there was no point trying to compromise with MAGA cult. Dems criticized him for his Pollyanna attitude when he first took over, thinking he could actually work with the people he’d worked with for decades in Congress. They were right, he was wrong. They have no interest in passing laws for the good of the country.

like what opening up the border? giving away 7 trillion dollars. 4 day work weeks. biden is the kid who won office promising no homework and free pizza. he's a child stuck in a cadaver's body who is being co-opted by the cult. and if he can't work with everyone that's a him problem. a policy problem. a shitty president, in short

Border numbers that will alter the country
Attack on energy leading to gas spikes and ev bs people don’t want
Global affairs
Defund/bail
Lockdowns
Price spikes 40 year high now stuck

This administration has done serious damage - more so than any in my lifetime by a long shot. And every one of these things can be traced to Dem policies
Lockdowns were started by Trump. EVs are comin whether people want them or not, but they will be gradual. Biden was never in favor of defunding and was outspoken about it. Sorry, I do believe in the climate disaster approaching and we need to bite the bullet and put safeguards in place. Global affairs, I just imagine the mess we’d be in with Trump dealing with world affairs. Border has been a problem for decades. Republicans have no interest in fixing it or they’d work on a bill.

You might think that as for his policies. As a person and human being, it’s not even close or debatable. Trump has been a horrible human his entire life. No one had a bad word to say about Biden until he became President. Even Lindsey Graham said he was one of the most decent and honest people I’ve ever known in politics. And as good a man as God ever created. Yes, there’s a difference. A huge difference. Anyone who can’t see it is deaf, blind, or ignorant.
Jesus Zeke.

Biden lies almost as much as Trump, and he tells awful lies. He lied about being at ground zero the day after 9/11. He lied about getting arrested trying to visit Nelson Mandela. And he’s lied for YEARS about how his wife died.

That’s not really what I’d call a good person.

You really are hopeless.

Lockdowns were started by Trump.
yes when we didn't know what we were dealing with, but then stats bore out the insanity of same, particularly with kids in school and blue states/counties kept them going as they became another totem of the cult. fortunately a number of red Ag's began suing blue counties to force the issue.
EVs are comin whether people want them or not
and that's the cult in a nutshell. we decided this is a good thing, with what appears to be considerable conflicting evidence, but we're government and we'll decide for you
I just imagine the mess we’d be in with Trump dealing with world affairs
you don't need to imagine. things were calm under trump. it blew up under biden

compare numbers between trump and biden. look up remain in mexico and the rest biden immediately reversed course on.

at least try to get informed. you're going with full on feelings devoid of support.

We have got to get her on the show... IT's a must !!

Good policies
But character matters, no?

I think Biden is duplicitous and weak. Those are character issues.

I think Trump is a narcissist, dishonest, and a grifter. Those are character isseus.

I don't have those concerns with Andy Beshear or Josh Shapiro, or Nikki Haley. Why are we focusing on two ancients?

Americans hate change (from my experiences overall) and would rather go with what they know then the unknown.

apparently they are the only two people in america.

Are we saying that if something isn’t perfect, it’s no better than if it’s completely ignored?
I think it's pretty clear that isn't what I'm saying, but let me underline it to make it a little more crystal.

There has never been a time where the press was free of substantial bias driven by a set of influential actors. It just is what it is. Maybe there were times when the bias was something you were comfortable with, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.

True story: drove by a course yesterday. I pointed it out to my son and said “hey look a disc golf course.” Without missing a beat he said “yeah, I’m not good at frisbees.”

I’ve never been prouder of my son.

So if you can’t work with someone, but you’re still elected to serve them, you attack their voters? That’s bad leadership.

It’s a Top 2 worst thing to come out of the last decade for American society. We saw some of our respected and trusted institutions throw it away to “get Trump” based on hyperbole that he was a dictator, fascist, orders of magnitude greater authoritarian, White Supremecist, neo-Nazi, certifiably mentally ill enough to be declared unable to do his job per 25A, and danger to democracy.

I have a theory though that what really drove this is the same phenomenon that drive many Trump supporters: shame.

Trump’s demeanor and attitudes were so crass that many highly educated elites saw him as reminding them of, and appealing to, the “worst” people in America, who they consider poor, uneducated, living in fly-over country, and so also racist, homophobic, God fearing, desiring to enslave women. Any candidate who attracts those people must be destroyed, and Trump proved to them that their nation was full of them. (This would also explain the weird phenomenon of white educated liberals falling for the illiberal and incoherent theories of anti-racism).

My advanced degree in armchair psychology leads me to think it’s crucial these people they hate so much are white. Many, many poor black, Hispanic, and Asian Americans hold backwards views, too. I think white “deplorables,” though, remind a lot of white social, economic climbers and elites of their own backgrounds and where they came from. Maybe they are embarrassed about those backgrounds now that they are hobknobbing with those they believe are purer bred on the two coasts and so must be the most vocal critics and activists— the Resistance!

I think we need to explain their behavior on a psychological level like this since this attitude and actions have been so widespread and so visceral.**

**or maybe this is just the caffeine kicking in and my brain is firing off too fast.

You may be on to something and let's be clear here - this woman started suffering from wokeness long before it was a thing and well before Trump was even in the picture. Anyone that thinks NPR can be a nonpartisan deliverer of news with this nutjob at the helm, is seriously mistaken.

Replace “you” with “what is needed for the system to work” and I’m with you.

The issue isn’t and shouldn’t be what I am or am not comfortable with— it should be and I am arguing about what is healthy and unhealthy for our nation.

Trump former aide Griffin today: “ The fact that Trump’s own Vice President is not backing him is not getting enough attention. That is historic. That is a big deal. He knows that Trump is unfit. “
Again, the people who actually know him know how catastrophic another four years would be. But the Trumpers here, who he wouldn’t let step foot into Mar A Largo without a million dollar donation, yeah, you guys know better. Uh huh. Makes so much sense.

those are just words. we have evidence of trump's presidency vs biden's and the consequences of same. data. policy decisions. bills. important stuff. not gossip. First thing you see is she’s a fav of the view.

They are words based on KNOWING Trump!!! It’s not that hard. It’s not gossip. It’s based on people who know who he is and the harm he will do. I’ve never heard of her before.

she was featured on nyt as a liberal favorite now making the view rounds. probably opportunistic. hell tucker was on cnn in a bow tie and today he's pretending to wear carharrt. who cares. think for yourself. evalute the polices and the consequences of same yourself. harm he will do. calls for inane paranoid speculation. we had him. it was far better. he's a better president than a progressive. progressive policies do not work. trump has a body of work. biden has a body of work. and incidentally biden seems to be doing a 180 from quite a bit of his bullshit bc it's an election year

The paradigm shift is the reach and scope of media/press the past 15 years. It’s always existed, but could never reach you taking a shit at Wendy’s, until now. Great for passing time and dopamine hits, but not political discourse.

When Biden was running originally, most Republicans said he would be their choice among all the candidates and that he was more moderate.

Once Biden won the primaries, the propaganda smear campaign took effect and the rest is history. Biden didn't change overnight but what people heard from conservative media did.
