It appears people are getting too used to crime

Just because the brother was brandishing a firearm and demanding cash, he didn't deserve to get shot. "Yes, he's robbing us... oh well"

We have people who see this shit and think: why didn't the store have security; they should just let them steal, insurance will cover it.

It will only get worse if inflation doesn't subside

This happened two and a half years ago, and the grand jury did not indict the manager.

Here's a crazy store shooting from a couple weeks ago. The fact pattern of this is nutty

Shoot more criminals.

If the court has to deal with them, castrate the third generation of male felons and hysterectomies for her.

Only other sentences should be death penalty, life without parole, or indeterminate sentence until rehabilitated.

Law and order.

Free meth, coke and heroin at Camp Hotel California.

There are several famous AWESOME movies about the Erp brothers. The "human beings" of the USA are channeling the ways of the Red Sash Cowboys. The OK corral is coming and bringing hell with it!

Born in 91. Show was over by the time she was in grade school. Show's old now. She loves the Larry David show
As a line from Two and a Half Men I saw last night from a mechanic to Allen about his girlfriend Kandi, ''good for you'' Forget sometimes how old it actually is but been in reruns constantly

I didn't watch that show religiously like Seinfeld and others but when I did I always got a laugh!

Biggest problem with the above clip is the news reader's grammar:

"...Roosevelt Grappley was the 2nd of 10 children killed by gunfire"

So, was he the 2nd one killed by gunfire or have 10 of the Grappley children been killed by gunfire.

Freaking nails on a chalkboard.

I've probably seen 3 episodes in full. Never really liked it when it first came out

This is a long article but it’s very interesting. It fits into this conversation about how overlooking petty crime is a bad path to choose. It also shows how pursuing extreme ideological policies is a road to ruin.

That's a great read. Very sad. Hopefully it recovers as I think it's by far the coolest city in America. The liberal progressives went too far. They are detached from reality. Now we'll get the response from the right and it'll go too far the other direction

Agree. It’s an amazing city. Haven’t been in over 20 years. But I remember the time I spent there fondly.

All six conservatives in SF will now have that much influence?

Who knew?

I think we are well beyond liberal vs progressive thinking. It’s now about smart vs dumb. By smart I mean being able to make judgments about present conditions based upon the likely effect on future conditions.

Everything is awful and getting worse now because decisions are based on the ideology of the moment.

That Atlantic article is really depressing because of the fait accompli" attitude about drugs. People being unable, or unwilling, to pass drug tests presents many problems including eviscerating our transportation and supply chain infrastructure. We need a dug-free labor force for that. Our labor force is high living in tents or shooting each other in any city USA. I wonder if those who push for safe and legal drug use even see the connection that has with their cancelled flights and empty shelves seen at the super market.

San Fran is an interesting place from a public admin perspective. I just got out of grad school and spent a summer there when Willie Brown was taking over as Mayor. His timing was fortuitous as he was in charge during the dot com era. So the city had all sorts money for programs and was gentrifying areas and engaging in all sorts of large scale projects. It was gorgeous. Newsom replaced Willie when Willie termed out. Since that time as what appears to be bad luck (dot com decline) and bad policy San Fran has apparently gone to shit. I think it would be a terribly difficult city to manage when the median home price is 1.5 mil
