it's a simple matter of talent, and we're just not a team with a lot of talented players. It isn't that our kids don't care about winning. They all come from winning programs. They're just overmatched by the Garzas (Iowa), Smiths (Maryland), Winstons (Mstate) and Simpsons (Michigan) of the league. You can go on and on.

We got no ball handler, no drivers, no beast in the middle, no dagger in your heart shooters. I watch a lot of college ball other than IU, and this is what other teams have, and what we lack.

What we've got are great kids who go to class, get good grades, graduate, and keep themselves out of trouble off the court.

Most everyone wants to "lock up the state" when it comes to recruiting. Maybe it's time to admit that Indiana talent isn't what it used to be. Haven't been any Abernathys, Baileys or Hulls coming out of the Hoosier state in a long, long time. Yeah, if we had 13 kids with the enthusiasm of Joey Brunk, we might have a really good team. But we don't.

IU isn't a "destination" team like it used to be. Until it is and we can start attracting some top caliber national talent, settle in for lowered expectations. Archie can only offer, he can't make them commit.

Would love to see Cooper Bybee jack up some 3s in a game. Couldn't be any worse.

Pretty sure the coach is responsible for putting the team together. Miller should’ve known two years ago that some kids couldn’t cut it and advised that their future playing time would be very limited. Several would’ve moved on. As it is, the guards he has recruited aren’t good enough, and they’re not alone. And regardless of talent, playing hard has never been a matter of ability but rather desire. And the effort isn’t there.

So, yeah, it is the coach.

Ok then who would you have gotten rid of? Who would replace them? The guards can’t hit any shots. They never could and never will. We get the open shots. Just can’t hit them. Wouldn’t matter who we have as a coach.

Stop. It's the coach. It was the coach that lost 12 of in a row last year and it's the coach who on the biggest night of IU basketball in two decades can't motivate them to even try harder than Purdue on the road. Just stop. Miller flat sucks. To believe otherwise is to ignore what's right in front of you.

It’s simple. It really isn’t all coaching. Our guards can’t hit a broad side of a pole barn.

Yeah, it's the coach, two recruiting classes in and keeping Crean recruits and some of his own recruits have moved on. It's on him

Get the f—k out of here and go look at the player rankings of each team you are a clueless POS

Green and Durham for sure, and probably Smith. And you recruit better players, your kind f players. Miller should’ve known what he had and moved aggressively to fix the roster. If he knew and didn’t take action, shame on him. If he didn’t know, then it only validates the expanding belief that he’s over his head. Either way, his stewardship of the program isn’t satisfactory, and it doesn’t appear to be improving.

Our talent according to Rivals is superior to these teams that embarrass us. There is zero merit to your post and the excuses for MIller need to end. It's time to get rid of him.

This is absolute bullshit that he can't do better than that in 3 years, at least show progress, making 3.5M with the largest recruiting budget in the B10. It's really hard to lose 12-13 with a lottery pick on your team and several 4 stars, his teams are unprepared and don't try on most nights, and we're seeing total proof of that AGAIN! Think before you post next time.

What was the APR the first year and how did that impact the decision?

That reminds me .. I haven't listened to ragtime in awhile. Everytime you post I think of it though ..for some odd reason.

Don’t know the APR but sending the message of greatly diminished playing time would’ve set a tone that clearly doesn’t exist. And why would it have mattered? IU wasn’t in danger of making the tournament anyway. Miller hasn’t built a winning culture, and it started a few years ago when he accepted both marginal talent and low effort from anyone.

Oh boy. No wonder there are no expectations at iu.

Two thoughts:

we could use more shooters. 2 of the shooters that he brought in were one and done players. we are in his third year, so he’s had time. Instead we are a team built around veterans, and the Miller rebuild hasn’t even begun.

Talent is way down in CBB. We didn’t lose today because Pu had more talent. We lost because they played harder, and were better prepared. That is coaching. Painter is a good coach that gets a lot out of his talent. Miller MAY be a good coach, but he has done an awful job of getting the most out of IU’s talent while at IU. And I could care less what he did in Ohio.

Why do we have 2 open schollies? Archie had a year to try to fill them with a point guard that can shoot and somebody else who can shoot.

Rivals rates HS players ... once out of HS those rankings don't matter.

Do better dude. there's actually valid things to question and criticise. No one has yet, just a bunch of wailing and moaning but I'll give you guys the benefit for now.

His best year was his first when crean players. So that excuse is nonsense.

We need a creator more than shooters. Someone who is a triple threat with the ball. and someone who can take and make guarded shots.

I don't know how much any coach would get out of Green, Durham and even Phinisee who may be playing with a hernia. Name another team in conference except NW where Green or Durham get 20 minutes. We may have talent but it's sure in the fk not in the backcourt.

Yes, a creator would be nice, but so would shooters and defenders. In the backcourt, IU has very little of any of those capabilities. Miller could’ve tried to fix that but he didn’t. It rests with him.

Yea I know you don't understand how little you know. Dunning Kruger is common around here.

It's okay, you're fairly bright, hopefully someday you will know what you are talking about and then you'll feel as foolish as you sound.

Until then .. learn.

Dunning Kruger is rampant in our whole population. Our fan base just has a higher percentage of it.

Ha. I played a division 1 sport in the ncaa tournament on a top 20 team. I know what effort looks like - and I haven't seen it in three years under Miller. The x's and o's don't mean squat if you can't get the kids to play hard. And Miller simply cannot get the kids to out work the other team.

Lack of talent or attrition due to injury, poor roster management are totally on Archie. More than anything it's the lack of effort, consistent lack of effort that define his coaching
