IU travels to Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- No. 19 Indiana hits the road for the second consecutive weekend of Big Ten action as the Hoosiers look to gain momentum at Iowa (14-6).

The Hoosiers, who have won 13 of their last 14 games overall, are 1-1 in Big Ten play after a Sunday doubleheader split at Penn State last weekend. IU and PSU were schedule to play Friday, Saturday and Sunday until snow at State College moved the series to two games on Sunday.

IU is 16-5 overall and is fresh off a 3-0 mid-week shutout of No. 7 Louisville at home, led by two home runs from freshman Isaiah Pasteur.

BACK TO BIG TEN PLAY
••• Indiana and Iowa will meet for the 145th time since opening the all-time series on April 18, 1913.

••• Iowa leads the all-time series, 74-70.

••• The Hoosiers have defeated Iowa eight consecutive times and swept the season series in 2014 and 2013 -- both in Iowa City. During the streak, Indiana has outscored Iowa, 71-31, for an average margin of victory of five runs.

••• Indiana has won back-to-back Big Ten regular season and tournament championships. Only nine times in B1G history has a team won three consecutive Big Ten titles.

••• Indiana is 37-10 in conference action since 2013, including a 21-3 mark in 2014. IU is 19-7 on the road in that span (11-1 in 2014).

ON THE ROAD AGAIN
••• Indiana is 36-20 in true road games over the last two-plus seasons, including an 18-8 mark in 2014.

WHERE INDIANA STANDS
••• Four of the five polls recognized by the NCAA have the Hoosiers ranked, while IU is also receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

••• Indiana has achieved its highest ranking of the season, tabbed 19th by D1Baseball. Below are IU's current rankings:

••• Since 2013, Indiana has been ranked in at least one poll in 35 of 45 possible weeks. IU has been a Top 25 team on 35 occasions, a Top 20 team in 29 weeks, a Top 15 team 16 times and has reached the Top 10 nine times.

A LOOK AT THE HOOSIERS
••• In the Big Ten, IU ranks first in walks allowed (42), tied for first with nine triples, third in team ERA (2.48) and strikeouts (184), tied for third in home runs (14) and fourth in batting average (.284), and RBI (115) and tied for fourth in total bases (299).

••• Fifteen of Indiana's 21 games have been decided by three runs or less, including seven by one run. IU is 6-2 in one-run games and has won five straight. In three-run games, IU is 11-4 and winners of its last eight such contests.

••• Casey Rodrigue leads Indiana with 4 total bases and 17 RBI. Craig Dedelow leads IU with a .341 batting average and 28 hits. Three Hoosiers have at least seven extra-base hits, led by 10 from Austin Cangelosi.

••• Thomas Belcher leads IU with 23 strikeouts and a 0.57 ERA (min. 15 inn.). Ryan Halstead has a team-high five saves and his IU career record 28 rank sixth among NCAA active career leaders.

••• IU players have been honored five times this season by the Big Ten, the most selections in the league, with Nick Ramos (Feb. 16) and Austin Cangelosi (March 16) earning Big Ten Player of the Week and Logan Sowers (March 2 and 9) and Brian Hobbie (March 16) picking up Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.
