Now that gambling is all but legal in most states I’m really concerned about the integrity of the game, specifically when making player bets. For instance in the Purdue game tonight there were 4 prop bets on Haarms, Hunter, Williams and Stefanivich for the number of points they would score. What keeps a player from taking a $10,000 bribe to shoot a bunch of bricks, especially from a player who has zero chance of a pro careeer......

I know it can't completely stop it, but Mitch Daniels has made it policy that Purdue students faculty and staff cannot place bets on Purdue games.

They are prop bets so no book will take close to 10grand on a bet. I would guess 500 would be pushing it. Further, I would almost guarantee the amount wagered on any given prop in college b-ball for a PU game would be a very small number. I would be shocked if it was more than 20-30k really.

to make a 10k payment to a player you are gonna bet at least 50k right? Better make it worth it to go to jail? Would be so obvious.

That's it! Archie was right. We do have good shooters. They are all on the take.

You know, I guess you think that's funny and witty, but it's neither.

Try again.

There's not a competitor out there who wouldn't want to be shooting an incredibly-high percentage from both the field and the line.

Most games now online have prop bets for individual players, with social media I think it would b pretty easy to pull of a scheme.
