No one knows the HS basketball landscape in Indiana better than the Indy Star's veteran beat writer Kyle Neddenriep. The Hoosiers have missed out on several high-profile players. Can Darian DeVries end that slide?
Ya I wouldn't want any of those northern boys either, Fletcher, Furst, Flory and the like.Get out there and win over the high school coaches between I70 and The Ohio and they know everyone. It worked before.

...and no doubt same fact true of the north...I'm referring to a proven strategy that works. There are 5 S. Indiana high school coaches off the top of my head that can connect you to everyone else in the state. Crean alienated the coaches in his own backyard and it spread quickly word of mouth. You misunderstood me.
There is a 6’6” freshman at one of my local high schools that is playing 2/3 and shot the lights out. Kid would be perfect for us.I hope he recruits the Chicago area like Cig, as well as Indianapolis.
Lock down the midwest. Show them the light. The place to play is Indiana!

I think we can agree that the foundation of a long successful tenure at IU is being well connected and well thought of by the shot callers in the high school ranks throughout the state. You're talking to the guy here that convulsed when we weren't recruiting Glenn Robinson and later Zach Randolph. Years later I found out why....and no doubt same fact true of the north...
Who the F is wants to emulate Crean? The idea is to get as good a lockdown on Indiana, the whole state. From Illinois to the Buckeye, dirty water to Meatchicken. That's recruiting.
What was the score?Needs to take the plane up to Elkhart Semi-State to see Fishers if he isn’t already there. Blew out SB Riley already today. Will play winner of Homestead and Crown Point tonight
IU is a mid major now. Makes senseOne of my clients has a son finishing 8th grade whose playing 2 years up in AAU and already has 5 offers from mid majors. Said they might consider IU since Woodson's leaving.
I'd say you're now talking facts. Instead of glorifying half the state.I think we can agree that the foundation of a long successful tenure at IU is being well connected and well thought of by the shot callers in the high school ranks throughout the state. Being present at the state tournament, a relentless summer of showing up at gyms and he'll be on his way. The coaches at the grass roots level in this state are as good as it gets and they're all connected at the highest level.
Bet your padded seat MSU is there.Needs to take the plane up to Elkhart Semi-State to see Fishers if he isn’t already there. Blew out SB Riley already today. Will play winner of Homestead and Crown Point tonight.
4th? Wow!Game 1, Fishers 82-46 over SB Riley.
Game 2, final 41-29 Crown Point over Homestead.
