Indianapolis Business Journal Article on Butler and the Cost of Keeping Coach Holtmann

IU needs to talk to Holtmann now to gauge his interest and asking price. Perfect timing to upgrade to Holtmann in the offseason! This perfect timing situation may have fell in Glass' lap. IU can't afford to miss out on another great fundamental Butler coach! Butler is ranked for a reason, they play hard nosed, smart, fundamental Basketball, and IU will likely miss the NCAA Tourney with a complete failure to control excessive turnovers and a total lack of half court D. Get Holtmann now before another B1G school does like ILL.

He would be like 6th or 7th candidate at best if we have an opening. He has had a couple of good years at Butler but he was 10 games under .500 at Gardner Webb.

Earlier this basketball season weren't there posters on this forum with some allegiance to Butler who offered that Holtmann was in over his head at Butler and was a bad coach?

Nothing like a few wins to force the villagers back into their huts ...

unfortunately, Butler has lost a string of irreplaceable head coaches whose success can never be continued.

from Barry Collier, to Thad Matta, to Lickliter, to Stevens, and now Holtman.

maybe it's just something in the water.
