Bloomington, Ind.
I'm here at Bart Kaufman Field for Game 3 between IU and Nebraska.

Sophomore righty Pauly Milto is on the mound for the Hoosiers, while junior lefty Jake Meyers gets the start for the Huskers.

Nebraska clinched the series yesterday with a 3-1 Game 2 victory over IU.

Top 1st: Mojo Hagge flies out, Angelo Altavilla strikes out looking and Jake Meyers grounds out. Quick work for Milto, who needed just seven pitches to take down the Huskers' batters in order.

Bottom 1st: Alex Krupa battles to a full count but strikes out looking. However, he forced Meyers to work for it, as Meyers tallied 11 pitches alone against Krupa. Matt Gorski follows with a strikeout of his own. The inning ends with Craig Dedelow striking out as well.

Still scoreless heading into the top of the 2nd.

Bottom 3rd: Ryan Fineman starts off the inning with a leadoff single just over the outstretched glove of Nebraska second baseman Jake Schleppenbach. Tony Butler and Colby Stratten fly out to left center. Krupa grounds out to end the inning.

Both teams have one hit each, but we're still scoreless heading into the top of the 4th.

Top 4th: Altavilla with a shot deep to the warning track at right fielder but it's caught there by IU's Logan Sowers. Meyers strikes out. Scott Schreiber singles to the left center gap, and it looked like Dedelow might've had a chance to snag that had there not been miscommunication between him and Krupa. Miller lines out to second to end the inning.

Bottom 4th: Gorski with a nice bunt to reach first. However, Dedelow follows by grounding into a 4-6-3 double play. Miller reaches first on a fielding error, but Matt Lloyd grounds out to second to end the inning.

Both teams have two hits each, but we're still scoreless heading into the fifth.

Bottom 5th: Sowers with a leadoff single to the right-center gap to start off the inning. Fineman out at first after a bunt attempt, but it advances Sowers to second. Butler reaches first on a fielding error. Stratten flies out to left. Krupa walks to load the bases, but Gorski strikes out to end the inning.

Both teams have three hits each, but we're still scoreless heading into the sixth.

Top 6th: Hagge grounds out, Altavilla strikes out, then Meyers hits a two-out single. Schreiber follows with a single of his own. Miller lines an RBI single to right, scoring Meyers. Alvarado flies out to right to end the inning.

Nebraska 1, Indiana 0

Bottom 6th: Dedelow flies out to the warning track at center. Miller with a blooper to right to reach first. Lloyd follows with a single of his own to advance Miller to third and put runners on the corners. Sowers lines one to center for an RBI double which scores Miller and ties it at 1-1. Fineman pops out to the shortstop. Butler gets hit by a pitch to load the bases with two outs, but Stratten grounds out to end the inning.

Still 1-1 heading into the 7th

Top 7th: Roskam hits a leadoff triple to left. Appears Krupa completely lost the ball in the sun. Schleppenbach strikes out looking. Milto gets pulled on a 2-2 count against Nebraska pinch hitter Jeff Athey, replaced on the mound by Austin Foote. Stratten makes an impressive play firing a grounder back to Fineman to prevent Roskam from scoring. Foote gets IU's sixth strikeout, getting Hagge to strike out swinging to end the inning.

Top 8th: Altavilla pops out to the shortstop. Meyers singles to left. Lloyd replaces Austin Foote on the mound and gets Shcreiber to ground into a 4-6-3 double play.

Bottom 8th: Miller grounds out to third. Lloyd flies out to left. Sowers hits a two-out double, but Fineman grounds out to shortstop to end the inning.

Still tied 1-1 heading into the ninth.

Top 9th: Miller strikes out. Alvarado lines out to shortstop. Wilkening fouls out to second. Some nice relief work from Lloyd to put the Hoosiers in solid position heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Bottom 9th: Butler grounds out to shortstop. Stratten draws a walk, then steals second. Krupa flies out, and Stratten gets caught at second for the double play to end the inning.

Top 11th: Meyers leads off drawing a walk. Schreiber pops out to first. Miller grounds out to the pitcher, but advances Meyers to second. Alvarado flies out to center to end the inning.
Same thing happened to IU earlier in the year. You'd think they would leave a little more time for this sort of thing. 3:20 would be close at any rate for a 12:00 game.

Baseball Plays Nebraska to 1-1 Draw

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Baseball (14-11-2, 3-2-1) recorded its second tie of the season on Sunday, as the Hoosiers drew with the Nebraska Cornhuskers by a score of 1-1. Indiana's other tie came at Florida Atlantic on Feb. 28.

Junior Logan Sowers recorded three hits in the game, including two doubles, while also driving in a run. The Hoosiers recorded eight hits in the contest, as senior Craig Dedelow, sophomore Ryan Fineman, freshman Matt Gorski, sophomore Matt Lloyd and sophomore Luke Miller each recorded a hit.

Sophomore Pauly Milto made his first start of the season for IU, going 6.1 innings, allowing just one run and seven hits while striking out five. Indiana had a strong bullpen outing, as senior Austin Foote threw a scoreless frame and Lloyd allowed just a hit in 3.2 innings of relief.

The Cornhuskers struck first in top of the sixth inning. With two outs, Jake Meyers, Scott Schrieber and Ben Miller delivered three consecutive singles. Miller's single drove in Meyers to make it a 1-0 game.

Trailing 1-0, Indiana rallied in the bottom half of the inning. With one out, Miller laced a single to the opposite field and then advanced to third when Lloyd successfully singled on a hit and run to give the Hoosiers runners on the corners. From there, Sowers doubled to deep centerfield to knot the contest up at one.

Nebraska's Luke Roskam led off the third with a triple to left field that got lost in the sun. Milto struck out the next batter and Foote forced a groundout to short to nail the runner at home. Foote then struck out Nebraska's leadoff batter to escape the jam.

In the top of the eighth, the Cornhuskers got one on with a base hit with one out. Lloyd came in to pitch and forced a double play to keep the game knotted up at one.

The Hoosiers had runners in scoring position in the ninth and 10th innings, but were unable to capitalize.

Indiana is next in action this Tuesday as it hosts Ball State at 6:05 p.m.
