Don't know when the teams come out, but how do you think Rourke, Katic, Sarratt, Horton, Kamara, Carpenter, West, Fisher, Walker, Ponds will fare? 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team, HM? Mostly looking for what you think will happen v. what you think should happen.

Let me throw a few stats out there...........

1. It's between Rourke and Gabriel for 1st team qb (and for BT OP of the Y). Gabriel leads in pass yards per game (273 v. 257) and % (73.5% to 70.4%). Rourke has more TDs (27 to 24), fewer Ints (4), yards per attempt (9.9 v. 8.8) and a better rating (181.4 v. 165.1) Gabriel has 7 rush TDs and 175 yards rushing v. Rourke (2 and -25).

2. Sarratt is tied for the lead in ypc with Pat Bryant of Illinois at 18.2; 5th in the BT in receiving yds with 890; and among the leaders with 8 TDs. His total receptions of 49 are fewer than the other leaders other than Bryant. His competition looks like Bryant, Felton of Maryland, Jeremiah Smith of osu, Jackson from MN, Boston from Wash, and Egbuka from OSU.

3. Fisher is 3rd in the BT in tackles with 108, behind Schwesinger of UCLA (136) and Higgins of Iowa (118). Higgins also has 4 ints and 2 FFs.Fisher has 4 TFL and 4 PDs. Schwesinger has 8.5 TFL. and 2 ints.

4. Kamara is 2nd in the BT in sacks (10.0) and TFL (15.0). His 2 FFs is ted for 3rd.

5. Ponds has 35 solo and 53 total tackles, a lot for a CB. And 4.5 TFL, which is outstanding. He also has 9 PDs and 2 ints, despite being avoided by other teams most of the year. The PDs is tied for 6th in the BT.

6. Walker has an interesting stat line with 72 total tackles, 9.0 TFL, 8 PDs, 2 ints, and 2 FFs.

Stats are for all games, not just BT games.

The ABT 1st team consists of 1 Qb; 2 TBs; 2 WRs; 1 Center; 2 guards; 2 tackles; 1 TE; 4 DL; 3 LBs; 4 DBs. Sometimes there are ties, but w/0 ties just multiply by 3 to cover all 3 teams.

My predictions........I think Gabriel will get 1st team QB over Rourke, based on the better reputation coming in and more mobility. A split between the coaches and media team might happen; Sarratt will be interesting. One spot will probably go to Smith at OSU. The other spot is up for garbs. A split between coaches & media is likely. I think he gets 2nd or 3rd team.....one thing that hurts a few of our guys is its their first year in the BT.....; I think Fisher gets 1st team ABT at LB, even though Walker may be the more impactful player overall. Walker should get at least 2nd team, but voters tend to look first at tackle totals at LB, so he could fall to 3rd team.; I think Kamara gets 1st team, West 2nd team, and Carpenter HM. I think West has a good argument for 1st team, but voters tend to favor the DEs here.; I'd be shocked if Ponds doesn't get 1st team ABT, and he has a good argument for BTDB of the Y.

EDIT....I left out Horton, one my favorite players, and also one of the most underrated I would think. Warren's got 1st team ABT tied down. Don't know how Horton's receiving #s stack up to the other BT TEs, but I hope he gets at least 3rd team. He'a a hell of a blocker and a clutch WR.

I'll play too.

1: I think Rourke ends up 3rd team behind Gabriel and Howard. Sadly I don't think it will be close for him to make 1st team at all. I think Gabriel will win that in a landslide.

2: Sarratt won't be ahead of either O$U WR. Egbuka and Smith are NFL WR's right now and they'll both be 1st teamers.

3: Fisher makes no worse than 2nd team, and has a realistic shot at 1st team.

4: Kamara will be a 1st teamer.

5: Ponds will be a 1st teamer.

6: Walker will get penalized for missing games and make 3rd team.

7: I think West makes 2nd team. I think Carpenter makes 3rd team. I think Wedig and Katic make 3rd team. Quite a few guys will get honorable mention. Cig obviously wins CotY, both B10 and nationally, and his assistants also get some love with both Shanahan and Haynes getting votes for the Broyles award as the top assistant coach in the nation.

Good summary... Rourke missing a game, and then his Mich/OSU performances will probably have Howard over him.

I think Kamara and Ponds will be 1st teamers, only ones on our team. But we'll have a handful of 2nd through HM players, more than we've probably ever had.

Forgot about Walker missing those games......That makes him look even better to me, but you're right it may hurt him overall. He seems like a guy who just got better and better as the season went along. I really think he's been the best IU LB the last few games.

Howard looked like an AA against us and a bum against Michigan. He also had a few brain farts along the way. like at Oregon. One thing he does have over Rourke is more mobility. The way I look at QBs is ask myself how the other guy would look compared to our guy if they switch teams? In that regard, for us I would prefer Rourke over Howard because he's more accurate. Against bad/fair teams I'd take Rourke over Gabriel....against the very best teams, I'd probably take Gabriel due to his mobility.

Rourke: 1st /3rd; its really a toss up. Honestly, he shouldn't be below 2nd, but the OSU and UM games may push him to 3rd.

Ellison and Lawton are deserving of HM

Sarrat: 2nd/3rd

Katic: 1st/3rd

Kamara: 1st
West: 2nd/3rd - no numbers, but he obviously influences plays like nobody's business

Fisher: 1st/2nd
Walker: 2nd/3rd
Hardy: Freshman All-BIG

Ponds: 2nd/3rd
Ferrell: 3rd / HM

Radicic: Freshman All-BIG, possibly 1st in general. Has the most points for a PK, second most overall in conference, despite only kicking 9 FG!!!
