There have been a lot of emotions on here recently with our recent skid. So I would like to highlight the fact tonight starts the tourney for thousands of players and coaches in the high school ranks. I believe we all agree class basketball sucks, but this is still a special time for many young men. I hope all of you find some time to enjoy a game, support a local team, and spend some quality time with a family member or friend. It's time to support what makes Indiana trully special, our youth. And tickets are cheap! Dang, you negative nancies made me sound like a sunshine pumper!

Trivia time. The first state tournament was in 1911. One current high school has participated in every one. Which one?
You are correct. My first thought was Crawfordsville but they along with Wingate were banned in 1920 for recruiting. Even in the 20s that was going on.
Crawfordsville and Lafayette Jeff have been in all but one.
Who were the teams that were in the 1911 tourney? A quick google search doesn't give you the full field of 12.
Been watching some youtube of the one class tourney. watching 40 thousand at the Hoosier Dome in 1990 . Its better than college games
All I know is that Crawfordsville beat Lebanon. Bloom might have been there. vbg
Our gym had a capacity of about 5500. It was sold out and full for every tournament game and most regular season games. What a wonderful time the late 80's and early 90's were for sports in Indiana. Hey, the Hoosiers weren't too shabby either! Boy were we spoiled. Occasionally there are still games around that bring that kind of enjoyment.
Last night I was really enjoying ihsaatv. I watched games from the Ft Wayne area, Indy area,Kokomo area (that was a good game against Logansport). I went to youtube and watched my Hatchets of Washington thump Pike Central. Being an older guy I still marvel that I can watch high school basketball games in Indiana when I live in Pennsylvania.

One of my teachers in High School was from Shoals. He disliked Loogootee just as much as we in Washington IN did.
Yup. I am not from there but have heard similar things. It would make for a good environment.
