Fast food places such as McDonalds give the less affluent plenty of calories per dollar at convenient locations. Foods loaded with fat, sugar, and sodium can provide 1,200 to 1,500 calories per serving.
So if you factor in the cost per calorie eating unhealthy food can be a bargain compared with eating healthy food. On top of that, people get addicted to the taste and after a while actually prefer fast foods.

What you don't know is. They are giving money to the charter schools. More public schools are closing, fewer books, fewer computers, no air conditioning, no functioning boilers, and poor teacher pay are examples.. All of the schools I went to from elementary to high school are close. Charter schools are selective, everyone can not go to a charter school.
