That should have been a targeting call towards the end of regulation. Obvious helmet to helmet hit on a defenseless receiver. Would’ve put ASU in FG range, or damn near.up Texas' behind with a sledge hammer right about now! LOL.

Agreed would have taken another SEC team out REFs couldn’t let that happen. By all explanation i have heard since this rule was put in that was a text book targeting hit. That should have been a targeting call towards the end of regulation. Well they were Big Ten refs. The Refs must have thought it was Penn State vs IU all over again! LOL.

ASU kicking game is pretty suspect. Agree on the missed call…but they’d have had to get 10-15 more yards for a realistic attempt, I’m sure. That should have been a targeting call towards the end of regulation. Where the grey area is it’s supposed to be “significant “ contact to the head or neck of a defensive player. They get it wrong more than they get it right.ASU kicking game is pretty suspect. Agree on the missed call…but they’d have had to get 10-15 more yards for a realistic attempt, I’m sure.
Hard to come up with many justifications for a full review not calling targeting on that play. The only criteria that wasn’t met was a full crown of the helmet hit. But receiver was defenseless, without question. And it was direct helmet to helmet, without question. If that’s not targeting, they need to change the stated rules.
