Played in that gym in the 1975 sectional. Lost to Macy and Peru by 1 in OT. Still hurts.
caught the last 4 minutes. Pretty entertaining. Westfield had a good shot to tie there under 10 seconds but missed a three.
One of the best things Flory did after getting the last rebound was to get rid of it quick to Shane Spears who is a better free throw shooter. Shane had a very good game tonight. He's one of those guys who when he is 40 will be unstoppable at the YMCA.
Doesn't get any easier for Flory and Kokomo next week, they take on undefeated Chesterton in the Semi-State. Speaks to the amount of talent in this state when the "hand picked" #34 team IN THE COUNTRY (at least according to MaxPreps) is barely in the top 10 in it's class and overall in Indiana (#8 in 4A, #9 Overall). I'm not actually seeing any talent on the floor there, I've watched it like 2 minutes and already seen a shot off the side of the backboard, what are we supposed to see? The most stunning thing I've seen so far is that insane floor there, looks like something you'd see on South Park. Did you watch the Chesterton game? I saw their Sectional final and my impression was nobody on their team wows me. But as a collective group they are very solid. What are your thoughts if you watched them?

He’s very, very good. His size limits him a bit. But the matchup last night between he and Burton was phenomenal.
I didn't see last night's game. I will have to check it out. I don't remember him from the Sectional Championship.
Kokomos guards will struggle against him. The main question will be how Chesterton handles Flory. But they’re undefeated for a reason. I’ll be surprised if Chesterton doesn’t win handily. And you’ll very much appreciate Grayson afterwards.
I think they're going to have multi-class Semi State locations this year. I saw that Lafayette (not sure where in Lafayette) is hosting the 4A Kokomo-Chesterton and 1A Lafayette Central Catholic-Gary 21st Century Semi State Championships next Saturday. If the games are at the same site, in addition to watching Bidunga, there's a kid for Lafayette Central Catholic named Albert Schwartz who's a Sophomore that plays Forward/Center for them that started coming on at the end of the regular season that could be someone to keep in mind. He had double-doubles in LCC's last 4 regular season games.
9 years later I took my first of 3 sectional losses in that gym with a buzzer beater in triple OT from Maconaquah. I don't care much for that place.
Watched it late night after seeing this post. Flory has unlimited potential. Has great hands. Rebounds and catches every pass. Has a good feel around the basket even in very congested areas.
Purdue got another good one. Smith is a better passer than any guard on their roster. Not sure if he can guard anyone, but he’ll be a PIA for us for the next 4-5 years.
Haffner is exactly the kind of shooter IU needs as at least a PWO. Has deep range and a quick release combined with athleticism. How a guy like that ends up at Eastern Illinois is a head scratcher.

I've seen smith play several times this year. I think we'll really regret not recruiting him harder. Classic 4 year big ten player that teams like Pu and wisc always seem to have.
My thoughts after watching is that they play to win. Kokomo is playing to survive, Chesterton plays to win. No one made he say wow either, but they are 28-0 for no reason. Not sure they play toughest schedule
He did not wow me either. Yes, he’s quick, but Kokomo handles Braden smith who is much better. Go Irish
