I’m a bit surprised they’d take 2 tackles-unless maybe they think one of them can possibly play inside? Especially if Wyatt is headed somewhere else

Nope Benson projects as a guard. He played guard at IU for a while. Michalski is the tackle.
T. Wyatt still has not signed per the 247 Portal Site. Wyatt may still be in the mix but he was injured and missed all last year. I'm sure Cig would like to have a couple of guys he knows should be ready to plug in. Wyatt's injury may still be looming large in this decision. I am also wandering what Kidwell's status will be. He was hoping to be a starter but an injury stopped that.

Guess Cig didn't like losing the Ohio State and Notre Dame games. Awesome to hear we're shoring up the line. So tough to avoid injuries at those positions. Have been worrying that lineman were too expensive for us in the NIL era... but these guys can play.

I was not really impressed with Benson while he was here. Did he improve at CO last year?
I don’t think he’s a world beater, but I think he’s definitely an improvement when you consider it allows us to shift Lynch to center. He seems to be a guy with good tools and attitude, but he hasn’t put it all together. Let’s hope a clearer offensive strategy allows him to thrive.
If I remember correctly, he had a really good year playing OG, and struggled more at OT.
If he's committed, Coach Bostad will make him better.
Plus, I just love the idea of having two 6’6 320 lb road graders to beat people up on the right side of our line…talk about looking like Bostad’s Wisconsin lines!

Pretty sure Benson is going to experience a whole new locker room and culture this time around. I can’t imagine how different everything will feel going from LEO to Fast, Physical, Relentless.
With you on this one. Colorado had a bad OL this year, yet Benson didn't even start. Hoping Bostad can get him going.
Now my hopes turn to Harrison and an edge. Sprinkle in a TE and I will be a happy man!
If he is not committed and good enough to play he will not play. Bostad and CCC will see to that. Trust the staff.

I believe it was injuries that kept him off the field.
Maybe they bring in the JMU guy and let him compete with Benson.
Benson was very solid at IU. Needs to get back to Bostad. CU had a ton of issues. IU has more structure and much better coaching
He was injured and out for 4 games this year. He started a couple and then rotated.

He gave up 1 sack in 2023 and he started all season for us. Considering the QBs we had, I am going to say that was pretty impressive.
To that, I can guarantee Bob Bostad was the first person Cig went to before offering a scholarship. If Benson wasn't a locker room guy or wasn't equipped to play whatever part Bob has planned for him, we wouldn't have gone after him.
I saw a video late in fall camp this past season with him at CO and he was angrily getting after the other CO OL to give more. He's a beast of a man so if he's like that, I think he's exactly what we need against the NDs and OSUs of the world.
Totally agree. Bostad wanted him back.

Michalski is injured, according to the article I read on his arrival. Will he be able to be full strength next season or is he expecting to be for depth only?
He deserves his own thread too.
