I see Nevada made the tournament

Hey at lest they were in..
I'm still looking for Indiana ?
And Woodson has more resources than just a handful of coaches .
Ridiculous the cash Indiana puts towards basketball.. And can't even be one of 68..

I’m sure that would be your attitude if we did that in the first round also right? At least we were there even though we blew a 19 point lead with seven minutes to go?

Alford is clearly a better coach than Archie and Woodson but the Pierre Pierce incident is a weight around his neck.
The chair incident hung over Bob Knight and it didn’t slow him down.

If Purdue fans feared Alford’s possible hiring, that’s all I need to hear. That Steve Alford was never granted even a courtesy interview for the job is another one of the growing number of tragedies identified with IU basketball.

Yeah, the chair was exactly the same as Pierce.

His coaching record has always been pretty underwhelming. He’s had a nice long career though — good for him.

I think he would have done better than Painter at least initially. He would have been a much stronger recruiter in the state of Indiana than Painter was. He is a state legend and along with the advantages that IU had, I think just the talent alone would have made IU a powerhouse. Painter has caught up and I think is a good coach. If IU hadn't been down while Painter was getting his coaching legs under him, Alford at IU would have cleaned his clock.
I would think Steve’s father had deep ties to many HS programs in the state.

Hadn't thought about the timing of Howard's success at Michigan having an influence on the Woodson hire. But obviously the offseason they were making the Woody coaching hire, was immediately after Howard's B10 championship season. I'm sure that did have some influence.
Then the IU decision makers are even dumber than we all thought. I sure as hell hope that wasn't a part of the decision-making process. Asinine.
