I probably should do more to keep microplastics out of my family and my body.

I don’t drink from plastic water bottles anymore, I prefer to use my overpaid water bottle. I do however heat up food in plastic containers, use plastic bags to store food, use non-wood cutting boards, and use plastic in other ways around the house. Polyester in our clothes? I doubt I will give it all up, but I certainly can do better. Supposedly the microplastics accumulate in our brains and cause dementia among other ailments. Anyone successfully kicked plastic to the curb?
Eliminating Microplastics

Yeah...it's pretty hard to avoid plastics these days. I'm pretty much the same as you. I rarely drink out of a plastic water bottle, opting to fill my giant Hydroflask 2-3 times a day. I did stop warming stuff in plastic containers, but still store things in them. I'm thinking about moving and getting rid of a crap ton of my stuff soon and one of the things I thought the other day was to just recycle all my plastic containers and buy those glass ones as I need them.

And even though there are mixed results on aluminum in deodorant, I stopped buying stuff with aluminum in it.

Never realized I needed to care about my deodorant. Other than the smell.

You ever hit O'Connels Pub? Back when I ate red meat they had great burgers.

dooooooooooooood. back back in the day that was the best burger in town. absolutely no comparison. fried mushrooms and a cheeseburger from there. literally the best. my pop for about a decade would sit at the bar every monday and get their roast beef sandwich. tiny little menu. Llewelyns is nowhere near as good as O’Connell’s at their peak

forever
1. o'connels
2. fatted calf
3. dooley's

Aluminum salts are not aluminum the metal, just as table salt, or sodium chloride, is not sodium the metal. That's chemistry for you. Plus... the dose makes the poison.

That being said, there's growing evidence to suggest that its a good idea to avoid ingesting microplastics since they accumulate, don't degrade, and track with neurological issues.

Why'd you give up red meat? Doc tell you to?
Nope, I was stoned one night and watching this program on HBO about the relationship between humans and animals. It made us look really bad like we have no respect for anyone but ourselves. I decided that day unless I needed to hunt for my own food I'd stop eating red meat. Originally I gave up chicken and fish too. However once i realized I needed more protein and it was becoming to hard to cook for my diet, my wifes diet and the picky kids, I started eating free range chicken, fish and seafood. I was never one of those people who needed to change the world, just thought I could be one less meat eater. It was all about respecting animals a little more. It still upsets me when it seems an animals only purpose being born is to be put on our table. And screw those corporate farms.

Bruh, in the last few days, you're posting about skin care, microplastics, and now admitting you gave up red meat.

Did you change your name to Karen?
You know the hidden truth is I kinda need a break from politics. The news is consuming enough. I want to be engaged on this board, but I can't do politics all the time. It's just too draining.

Co-sign. I was sort of hoping the board actually was eliminated

Have plenty of local farms around me. I get grass fed grass finished beef from family farmers.
Where do you live? I hit the farmers markets a lot for meat when I'm entertaining during the summer. Usually I go to the Carmel and Zionsville market and occasionally Broad Ripple.

Loogootee. Dubois county has a few local farms.
Are there seriously that many vowels in the name or did you make a typo? Never been there. Do the girls wear bonnets? Just kidding. There are days I wished I didn't live in a densely populated area.

That's how it's spelled. There are bonnets, lots of amish/Mennonite families around.

This is the type of stuff I was hoping RFK Jr would have gone after right away. We have too much bullshit in our food and water supply. Way worse than any of the vaccine quackery he is obsessed with. He has/had a chance to do some real good. Sadly he is stuck in Quacksberg.

So let me get this right….you might have read this as “I should probably keep micropenis’s out of my body”. Is that how you read it?

I was more concerned for your family....

I mean your wife knew what she signed up for.

Agree. If he would have asked why American bread has 46 ingredients and euro bread has 3, I would be wholeheartedly supporting those discussions. We allow food processors to put way too much shit in our food. It makes us fat and unhealthy. Let’s address that.
