I NEED A COMMITMENT!!!

Patience.

They're coming in the next couple days.
I got to admit. I’m trying really hard to be patient and I’m struggling also. Lol. I really thought our amazing season would have a greater impact than I’m seeing right now, and hearing Cig say in his PC 80% of the best players in the portal are already committed was kind of a downer because right now it doesn’t feel like we will be getting any significant upgrades or depth at the positions of greatest need. i admire your patience though. I’m really trying to be because I know Cig can coach and after the miracle season he just pulled off I feel guilty even questioning what’s going on. So, I’m doing my best to just let the process play out.

Well….this is a byproduct of being in the college football playoffs. I wouldn’t trade reaching that achievement for a non-CFP spot in a lower bowl but for teams participating in the CFP and trying to prepare for their matchup and focus entirely on the game, it leaves no time to work the portal. And, James Franklin talked about this and was on point where he related the case with Beau Pribula and the kid having to make a decision and start taking visits in the middle of preparing for a Dec 21 game. It’s just way too tight of a window between game prep, portal visits and kids needing to be at their new campus by the time the semester starts. That part of all of it is haywire right now. And all the teams in the CFP are dealing with it. Those like Indiana that are now out (SMU, Clemson and Tennessee) now focus their attention on the portal before the dead period and the 8 schools left are prepping for their matchup next round. The schools in the other bowl games and those that didn’t make bowls all have a much larger time window to work the portal. We shut all of the portal work down on Dec 14. Dead period begins tomorrow until Jan 5. That means no direct contact with portal guys by the programs. We essentially did what we could after the Bucket up until Dec 14 and then had 2 days this weekend to try and close some deals.

Here's a thought. Could this be a good thing in terms of fostering better parity in college football?
I kind of a de facto draft slotting. Better teams are getting later picks, limiting their ability to overstock and horde.

Top winners get better PR, Donations, Attendance, NIL. Since NCAA athletics is now ALL about what a school can pay, programs with winning traditions and incumbency will always have the most $$$ and thus the always get the best players.
There needs to be something to mitigate this.

Mendoza to IU. Not an official announcement but this account has been spot on. Had the Knighton commitment before it was announced.
Watched some highlights. The man is a good scrambler for as tall as he is. Nice arm. Looks good!

I feel for Cherry if he does come. Has a couple years left not just one, right?

Anyway, our receivers will have a good time catching from Fernando! Rourke was near elite, Mendoza can be that level, plus more movement out of the pocket. Just going by the 5 minute youtube highlight.

But it’s the same account. Like they’re correcting a mistake maybe?🤔
Nah, this account is getting info from other more reputable accounts. There looks to be a lot of chatter here in the last few hours. On3 moved him up from 26% chance to IU to 79% chance, since yesterday alone. Suddenly there are lots of premium articles tied to him going up in the last couple of hours as well. I am not declaring its a done deal, by any means, but I think its going off the smoke.

A write up on Hemby says he hasn't lost a fumble in his career. :O Not that he hasn't fumbled but that's pretty cool. Versatile. Good reciever sounds like. Cig and co. can showcase him.
42 games, 2,347 rushing yards, 22 rushing td's and a 4.9ypc career average over that span. Add in 112 receptions, 921 rec yds and 5 rec TD's. Cig wasn't kidding when he said he values production over potential!!!

Why are so many players bailing from Maryland? Saw a report like 12 heading out and few coming in?

How's their NIL sitch? I would've thought they had a fair bit of NIL.

Glad to get Hemby. (Despite that other discussion of his declining average especially if he hadn't had the 75 yarger against us.)
