I hope NIL payments are not multi-season

Not exactly sure how NIL works, but hope the payouts are for one season and then it’s up to the school to set an amount for the next season (which could be accepted, declined or negotiated by the player and/or his agent). Assuming this is the case, and the total IU NIL stash for next season remains the same, as the new coach I would do the following:
* Cupps, Newton, Carlyle - zero NIL
* Rice - 50% reduction
* MM, MR - 25% reduction
* Tucker - no reduction

This might push some guys to leave, but so be it. Rice, MM, MR have had plenty of opportunity to show their program value.

If the program culture is more toxic than we know, it might be best to do a total flush and let all these guys walk.

Looking forward to IU basketball in 2025/2026 !
