Iowa getting beat bye UCLA by 24 after they beat IU by 25. Rutgers beating Nebraska @ Nebraska did not help. Ohio St is dropping like a rock. Providence, Gonzaga lost and South Carolina has lost 4 in a row!

Doesn’t make sense. I think part of what may explain it is when IU loses, it’s by a substantial margin.

The eye test, conference and overall records and old norms of road wins and key wins against ranked teams is still effective in evaluating teams.

The rankings get it pretty close by the end of the year. Right now it's just stats without the human analytical brain.

I don't pay any attention to that I just look at records and who you beat. If you have to barely slip into the tourney you suck. A six million dollar team should make the tourney easily without question. A six million dollar team should be a 4 seed at worst.

I don’t understand why we even need polls. It damages players’ self esteem. Everyone in Div1 should get a participation trophy. Quit keeping score. Getting beat by 25 at home shouldn’t count!

Polls are for fans.

Rating services like net and KP are useful for the committee. Those seedings may have some flaws, but as a measuring stick for how a season should be judged they are pretty good, since they encompass a broad swath of games.

Participation trophies? More like IU fans act like we have the expectations of an elite program but in reality that bar keeps getting lowered.

This says it all. Even if IU limps into the Big Dance, Woodson should be fired. He’s accomplished nothing he promised when hired and he’s not come close to expectations that us “not real fans” rightfully expect.
