Against Kent St. I like Mike but it was Kent St. at home. Probably will look good against Portland St too next week. MSU will test them but that's even at home.

MSU’s DB’s were vulnerable last year. Mike will do well. MAC teams are often up and down. I agree it’s hard to judge today.

Penix was not the problem here. He got beat up because of our Offensive Line. He broke bones and had surgeries because of our OL. Those things can make you a 'snake-bit'. But no QB is going to thrive here behind our current OL. The change in coordinator and improved receivers helped Bazelac make some quick throws on Friday night. But Penix was and IS superior to CB right now.

Yes, Mike’s entry into the portal was a business decision. New OC (3rd), same OL talent that had every one running for their lives, change of scenery to flush the bad memories are all good reasons.

You need to go back and watch the injury plays for Penix. He was injured for at least 3 of those that had nothing to do with the OL. One was running out of bounds after a long run. One was in the middle of a pile at the goal line.
