Penn States offense has been awful this year. the opposite of A big play offense they need at least 10 plays to move it down field into position to score.

if this defense doesn't give up a long drive today. And the offense doesn't give up the ball in their own end.

Penn State may not score double digits.

a 14 -3 type of game maybe in store. And if it is, that will be a much better overall sign of improvement than the typical 31-28 type of game were used to. A win is a win...but a low scoring win would be a statement!

While I don't disagree with a win is huge, it's not the answer to five years of building regardless of win or lose. These same questions seemed to be asked every week. Have we turned the corner and beat a WKU at home? Is this team capable of winning at Wake? Can we compete with Ohio St? Each week brings a new referendum on the state of the program. Today is an important step because it can get us to five wins with a chance to get to win six next week at home. We could be bowl eligible by mid October which makes the extension a no brainer, takes the pressure off in games coming up and allows the staff the chance to flip some kids to Indiana with a longer runway.

Dont think he's saying be happy when we get to 6, though we should as it'd be a first under Wilson. But to struggle to get to that 6 mark the past 3 years, and to reach it in mid October would help recruiting, take some pressure off the team, off Wilson, fanbase energized with multiple home games left. Hitting that 6 win mark and having Iowa and Michigan at home could spell for more OSU like atmospheres in the stadium instead of just outside of it. Then you have a chance of getting one of those games at home, win the final 2 against MD and PU and you'll see some momentum with a 9 win Indiana team.

I didn't see anyone say 6-6 was a goal in this thread. Must have missed it.

How to know? Win games in a row, upset someone, and really only when seasons over and we look back. No one game can indicate much of anything long term. But a win today CAN start a trend.
