Recruiting the passed over from lower conferences is great and I think he might be able to continue doing that. But if you want to play with the big boys, you need 4 and 5 star kids. Big, fast, strong. We don’t have that. The jury is out on if Cig can recruit those kids to
I think in a regular season that can get you a to 25 team. Top ten requires what you wrote. Starters and some backups. And again it’s one thing up bring in 15 guys from lower conferences. It’s quite another to bring them in from one team that kicked ass and is already cohesive

keep winning and I like his chances. hell, if I was a recruit I'd want to play for him

the amount and kind of publicity he's given us this yr is priceless
Oregon is the best team in the country this year, and thirty years ago they regularly sucked. All it took was a couple of years of success and great branding, and they can get all the talent they want.

Meh our loss is "best" I guess, but our wins hold us back.

Not our fault the schedule worked out that way, but it is what it is.

Phil Knight made Oregon Football.

If we are worthy of a home game, we go out and beat ND. Pretty simple.

Cig is right, though, that if Michigan. OSU, or Penn St. had our identical record and identical margins of victory, each would have been ranked high enough for a home game. But that's because they would have been over ranked. I think we're ranked pretty fairly.

Blow it out your ass. We earned a home game, and would have gotten it if we had the "brand."

To be honest I don't think we got robbed by ND, OSU or PSU. They all deserved a home game. I think we got robbed by Texas. What did they accomplish this season?

Yea. Need something. A wrinkle. A rally cry
I like that Cig is coming up with new ways to fire up the team to have a chip on their shoulders. Like Michael Jordan.

We beat ND, we legitimize our season. We get blown out, we are who they say we are (which, for us, is still the best team we've ever had). This game now becomes the biggest one in IU history.

I think regardless this is the apex of iu football. I think we’re really good. Not elite. We got lucky. But maybe cig is lucky. Beats what always felt like cursed

Btw I hate Notre Dane. Not as much as duke. But still

I appreciate CCC's honesty.

But on the silent snap count issue, if everybody uses it, why don't we practice it? How will the offense operate in super loud environments if they can't hear the QB? There must be a way to do it without tipping off the snap if all these other teams, college and pro, also use it.
When you run a silent count, one of the interior linemen makes signal to indicate the snap is coming. The simplest way is that the snap will occur after a set count, say 2 seconds (one thousand one, one thousand two). Of course, the D learns this. So you need another hand signal from a coach or somebody to indicate to everyone the interval, which you change often (1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds).

This can lead to mistakes, but is harder for the D to figure out. Then... you have other coaches giving "dummy signals" so the D can't decipher who is signaling the count so easily. Then you change the signal caller for different series.

So it does take some significant practice time to get on the same page and get everything right. It needs to get done, of course.
