Not gonna lie: that white IU quarter zip is drip.

@larsIU , woman on top left edge in bell-bottom jeans, red sweater, and one butt cheek in the photo.
Hadn't even seen Joe Buck til you said something about the 1/4 zip.

And, based on my years of experience, that telling litte bump at top dead right cheek is a dead giveaway for 40+. I would say she protects the gap as well. IYKYK.

Interesting. I mean, she doesn't have a flat butt and has long hair.

Would.

Jeff Sagarin has IU at #12, due to his formula weighting strength of schedule heavily, and margins of victory less so. He has OSU #1

Sagarin based point spreads
Predictor metric: OSU over IU by 10
Golden mean metric: OSU over IU by 12
recency metric: OSU over IU by 14
strong recency metric: OSU over IU by 13

But then again, he says Alabama is 17 points better than Vanderbilt on a neutral field (predictor metric), and we saw what happened there.

I wish someone could calculate our SoS if we hadn't beaten all the teams that were better than us "on paper." I have to believe our SoS takes a hit every time we beat the shit out of someone.

Interesting Indy Star analysis of starters and their HS recruiting rankings:

IU has among its starters…
0 former 5-star recruits*
3 former 4-star recruits
13 former 3-star recruits

4 starters were ranked in the top 50
6 starters were unranked

OSU has among its starters…
8 former 5-star recruits
10 former 4-star recruits
13 former 3-star recruits

23 starters were ranked in the top 50
Six starters were ranked #1 in the nation at their position

Observation:
Line up the top 21 most highly ranked recruits and OSU has 18 of them.
Line up the top 27 most highly ranked recruits and OSU has 23 of them.

*using the 247Sports Composite rankings

But…. Some dogs know how to fight, with no pedigree.

One five-star recruit plays on the 2024 Oregon Ducks football team: wide receiver Gatlin Bair from Burley, Idaho

Once you take the four highest ranked conference champs out, what 8 teams will move ahead of IU, assuming we don’t get smoked by OSU?
Five conference champs get in, not four. We lose to Ohio State, that means the OU/OSU loser and PSU are both in before us. Then Notre Dame. So you've got 4 slots left to split between IU and a bunch of 2 loss SEC schools.

Yes and the noise is they will be more deserving than us.

Kind of a blessing and a curse with Wash and mich being shit. Screwed us on our schedule strength but if they were like last year we would not be in this position

Don’t assume some of those SeC schools won’t end up with more losses. I’m not getting all worked up yet. Let’s show up on Saturday and see how things fall

If A&M loses to Texas, they might be done, but everyone else will be favored heavily the rest of the way. The most likely scenario is that three SEC teams end up with 2 losses, and in addition, Alabama gets their third loss in the SEC title game (or beats Texas, which screws us even more).

I'm not saying we won't get a bid. I'm just saying we need to not lay an egg this week.

Does “noise” matter? I thought the field was determined by AI or something after the conference champs.

If we lose to OSU by the same amount as PSU, and it's at OSU vs. our place, why would PSU get in ahead of us?

Total SOS?

The worst case scenario is Texas beats Texas A&M and loses in the SEC title game. The SEC would then end up with 5 teams with 2 losses. It would come down to IU vs Tennessee for the last spot in the playoffs.

Texas better not lose that game because if they do, they'll have absolutely no way to defend putting them in before us.

None.
