The QB from Avon going to Michigan, Peters, had an amazing game last night. He looks every bit a nationally elite prospect. I think he threw for over 350 yards last night.

I know I sound like sour apples but he threw for 350 yards and lost? Don't great QB's win big games in spite of poor defensive performances? Especially at the HS level. You can have all the skill in the world but if you don't have that extra mode to carry your team to victory at HS level I, personally, would not classify him as "elite".

It's early but elite players make up for other shortfalls.

This is a silly post.

In short, no.
Same failed logic that believes you should be able to rely on offensive shootouts to win in football.

If you need a good rebuttal to your point of view, one name for you: Antwaan Randel-El.

Oh, I see where you don't agree with me. I don't classify Antwaan as a great QB. I see your point if I thought he was then you are correct, my thought was off base.

Ok. We can disagree. If ever there was a one man wrecking crew and ARE doesn't qualify, I'd be interested to know who does?

You don't classify ARE as a great QB. I agree, he really just set countless records due to smoke and mirrors. His supporting cast carried him I would say. Jonny Unitas was a great QB because he won a ton in HS...which is what I solely base my talent evaluations on.

The Westfield QB, Ryan Pepiot is considered much more a baseball prospect than a QB prospect. He's a solid kid in my mind, but with a fastball that is over 90 mph and room to grow, I suspect we shall see him pitching a baseball, rather than throwing a football. Rumor has it that Butler leads for his services on the diamond.

The Southport QB, Luke Johnston is very intriguing. Stands 6'5" but is very skinny. He put up big numbers in Southport's offense last year and I suspect he'll do the same this season. I know several FCS programs are after him, but he's not gotten much FBS looks which is very surprising. According to 247sports, Purdue and Missouri have inquired but that's about the extent. Southport also features mega bball recruit, Paul Suggs this season. Will be interesting to see how he does this season and perhaps that'll bring some exposures to Johnston.

He's very elite and you not very smart to think otherwise! While football is a team sport, to elvauate an individual, you need to look at stats. 381 passing yards, 4 TDs thrown and 1 TD running. Is extremely good considering they played at Ben Davis. No many put up those kinds of numbers versus that school. Peters is very much Andrew Luck-esque. Not saying he'll end up that good, but he's a thrower and a runner. You'll be eating your words on how good this kid ends up being by the time he's done.

Pepiot and baseball, what a waste of football talent, that kid is stunningly good. jmo Maybe we
could offer Pepiot both, fb & bb.

I don't see us offering either of them as neither are better than Ramsey our current QB commit. Kids can certainly be late bloomers, so hopefully they will find a place that fits there talents, but it won't be here, unless we offer a walk-on opportunity.

Package deal - offer Johnston but only if Scruggs comes along and plays hoops and fb.
I'd do that in a heartbeat.

:D

I will all but promise everyone that the very best QB to ever come out of Indiana as far as the college game us now playing for the 8th grade team at Belzer Middle School

So w

So would any other program, but I like your thinking.

No doubt. Hate seeing Indy kids go to Michigan and Ohio State. IU just isn't there, but tour shared idea would be a start... Scrugs and Wilkes should be the key focus of the 2017 hoops class, anyway... Wanna play football? Shoot, you're our WR1 as a senior in High School...

Kids like Isaac James and Jacob Robinson are good starts in football... wouldn't mind seeing someone like Jovann Swann out of Center Grove take over for Darius Latham... Potts, the safety from Fishers is going to be a super stud, but he's probably out of IU's league...

Can you elaborate? As a former Belzer Bruin (and LC Bear) I'm interested in knowing more.
