Hicks vs Knicks.

I think the NBA REALLY does not want an Indy-Minnesota/OKC finals. That would probably be the lowest rated nba finals of all time.

They’re really going to want the Knicks in the finals, so the pacers are probably going to have to beat the refs as well.

I agree 100%! The Pacers will have to overcome tremendous odds (refs) to win this series. I think Game 2 will be even worse with calls against Indiana.

Let’s see how this Pacers team finishes out the tournament. They still need to win three more games to get to the finals, and the Knicks will give them plenty of resistance, so I’m not counting any eggs before they hatch. Having said that, I read and see how so many people are diminishing Haliburton. I don’t think hes close to being a top 5 player, but he’s still better than what most fans want to admit. And not just fans, but media and former players too. How many game winners does this guy have to hit before the conversation changes? This has been an incredible season for Haliburton, even when you factor in his horrific start to it. Hes on a roll now, as are the Pacers.
In this case I could never count eggs since before they hatch mine turn in to broken shells and food. We have a little place in the country and my wife and daughters wanted to buy a coop and a few chickens. I didn’t care but explained this is one time cleaning up after them and making sure they are fed will not under any circumstances fall to me. It will not happen. That was the last I heard of it.

If it goes to game 6 with Pacers leading 3-2 they will are liable to call a flagrant and disqualify Halliburton before he leaves the locker room.

Having a guy like Brunson is going to make it very easy on the refs too. He is on par with SGA, Harden, etc... on generating fouls. I've always viewed getting to the line as something very admirable and immensely valuable to any player. But guys like Brunson have ruined it for me. The traditional way...going to get an offensive rebound, finishing off two feat, going up through defenders at the rim instead of contorting and avoiding contact... those are basketball plays to me. If the defenders can block your shots, or go straight up and effect your shot...good on them, good defense. But if they have to come down on your arms, or body you, and it effects your shot, you've earned the foul.

What Brunson and SGA do, however, is nothing like this. Its acting to make a legal defender look like he's bodying or fouling. And it drives me INSANE that the refs continually reward them for it. While allowing the more traditional plays outlined above, to largely go uncalled. Its one of the few things I don't like about today's NBA basketball.

I've followed the NBA for 50 years. For me the peak was the Magic-Bird duels 1980-1987. Free flowing offenses, tough D, and of course an intense rivalry. But the Pacers weren't very good.

I think it's a good product now and the Pacers share the ball, play D, make shots, and save for Haliburton in the final seconds, they don't rely on "hero ball"

For 30 years we were stuck in the mode that you needed a top 5 player, maybe 2-3, to win. The Pacers destroy that.
The real test will be if the Pacers can keep these guys together. The first test will be Turner this summer. I happen to think he’s an important piece but he gets hell from many Pacer fans.

IU fans: In today's basketball, you simply have to take and make 3 pointers!

Pacers in these playoffs
Team 40%
Nesmith 54%
Nembhard 51%
Bryant 50%
Turner 43%
Mcconnell 43%
Siakam 41%
Walker 37%
Haliburton 34%

Some of the same IU fans: "I hate the NBA!"
Got Haliburton's stats in clutch time?

He only gets hell from Pacer fans who don't know shinola about basketball. Myles is the only rim-protector they've got. And he's elite there. Makes up for a whole lot of other defensive deficiencies. His offense is solid too. Love when he drives or posts, but his game is 3s and I honestly think he's going to make every one.

His parents were sitting just in front of me one game. Before the game I went down and asked if they minded if I sat and talked to them a few minutes. They smiled and said they didn’t mind. They were so proud and enjoying themselves. We talked and took a couple pictures.

Nice people!!
Was it the North Carolina game by any chance? I know they didn’t get to a lot of them. I ran into he and his mama at CVS the next day. I just congratulated him on his game and then his mom talked to me for several minutes while he got his stuff. You could tell she was so proud of him.

Am I remembering correctly that she was actively involved in his recruiting, and was the one responsible for him coming to IU?

I think that was the game.
