Drock is a grinder. His tireless work ethic and passion for bringing out the best on his players is unmatched. He is an outside of the box thinker on both ends of the floor . Indiana hit a home run.
Maybe take a break for the giant pity party and listen to some coaches?

And another: From an influential person in Indiana basketball recruiting circles on Coach DD: He’s an f-ing stud.
Per Rabby.

This 68 piece should be a must-listen for IU fans. Hell, I'm ready to run through a brick wall for this guy myself!

he worked for him for years, would expect him to say those things. I'm cautiously optimistic.

1st commandment of coaching: thou shalt not speak ill of another coach. (in public)

I mean that is great but they all praised archie and woodson too. They always talk great about a new hire. He needs to show us on the court.

Scott Dolson On Mike Woodson

“This is a great day and a great fit for Indiana Basketball. Throughout this process, I was looking for someone I could partner with to return Indiana Basketball to a level of success that Hoosier fans have come to know and expect, and Mike is that person.”

“During the last two weeks, I have spoken with numerous individuals at the college and NBA levels, and they were unanimous in their support of and respect for Mike. From his ability in terms of X’s and O’s to his skill at building relationships and developing players, his reputation is outstanding. As a coach, he’s succeeded at the highest levels of the NBA, and he’s mentored some of the game’s all-time great players. On top of all of that, as one of our program’s legendary players, Mike certainly gives us a bridge to our past. But more important than what he did as a former Hoosier player, he’s someone who shares my vision for what Indiana Basketball is about, and I’m thrilled about what this day means for our program.”

Exactly. Referrals from a another coach, especially one you worked under are essentially useless.
watch the Field of 68 After Dark podcast last night, with Goodman and Doug McDermott. McDermott's comments were glowing and he experienced DD as a recruiter and coach.

What’s missing from Dolson’s statement is a mention of recruiting and program building, two things NBA coaches usually leave to their GMs.

Considering McDermott has never made it further in the tournament then Archie, I don't really care what he has to say. After 30 years of wandering around in the desert, talk is pretty damn cheap. Just win.
