Hemby and Morris give us HR hitters

Glad to have these guys, but In 2024 we had a nice group of RBs. Two starters and a strong #3. Are these guys better or equal? How much of last years ground game was set up by Rourke’s passing?
So, if QB and not RB is the most important position, how do we stand there? Cherry may have had a December ACL putting 2025 in question. That leaves Wilson and Mendoza as experienced QBs and the younger Mendoza with true frosh Bell.

Our RBs last year were good, but none had breakaway speed. Hemby appears to give us that.

I think the 2025 RB room has better talent now, we will have to see if they are better in the 2025 season. The QB coming in, Mendoza could be an upgrade due to his running ability and accurate passing.
If Mendoza can pass close to KR his mobility will be a big upgrade. Going to be very hard to match Ellison and Lawton, especially for power running. But Hemby does have more speed.

Our receivers disappeared against Ohio State and Notre Dame. And didn't do well in the second half of the Michigan game.
Not sure how much was out of their hands or issues Rourke may have had. Obviously at OSU he had no time. I saw some separation, but not as much as lesser teams as expected. The bread and butter shoulder fade was well defensed by very good athletes though, and we didn't seem to have an answer.
But I like the look of App State's Jackson and the fact their fans were aggrieved to lose him, they say he's fast. And Morris looks solid and quick. I think with the veterans we have returning plus these guys, we have upgraded.

I think Elijah Green had top shelf speed. We didn’t use him. Obviously he didn’t show enough or never impressed the coaches because he was essentially pushed out as the three-headed monster in 2025 will be Hemby-Beebe-Black. I have to say that if they are anywhere close to Ellison and Lawton, we’ll be just fine. I was more impressed with Lawton as the year went on. That guy ran hard every down. Tough-nosed guy and was glad to have him for a season.

Interesting...I thought Ellison was the strongest we had. It could have been that Green did not block as well as the others and Rourke needed that extra protection, due to his muscle pull.

In a normal situation, he might have gotten more reps.

Green couldn't pick up the blitz. Cig don't play if you don't block. Just like McCulley.

He was already in the Portal prior to H & B being pursued... He might have been given a heart to heart eval that triggered his decision..., or perhaps he just thought he'd probably be #4 again and wanted to give it another shot at being "The Man" somewhere else...

I did enjoy watching him run the ball...

Wish him the best... (with the usual p u caveat).

He had an ACL problem not a muscle strain.
