I think Crean represents Indiana as well or better than any coach we've ever had. I truly believe he "wants" it more than he's capable of doing it, which makes it very hard to watch.

I used this statement last night: I'm 5'7" and white. If you put me in a gym for 10 years straight and surround me with the best weight lifting coaches, I'll still never be able to dunk. I love him as a steward of our program, but he doesn't have the skills or talent to make a team great. He's in the gym and folks are still expecting him to dunk, even though we're watching him hurt himself over and over. He wants to dunk so bad, but he'll never be able to dunk. That, is hard to watch.

I agree with theme of this post. I've always supported IU (and always will). I know how bad he wants it for his kids and himself. First 10 minutes of game we played great. 1 turnover. Shot well. Played best defense year to date and rebounded well. Showed me a glimpse of what I think we can be.

Of course the last 30 minutes was difficult to watch. Obviously a disconnect somewhere.
