I think so, I think this team, win or lose tonight, will start the climb back up. Maybe too little too late, but it would be nice to see them finish the season strong. Maybe they could shock the world and
win our first BIG tourney. Probably just wishful thinking, but something keeps telling me the team still has something left to write about in this season.

You are the eternal optimist. Me I'm more of a what you see is what you get kind of guy or an actions speak lounder than words person. Some see this as being a negative person. I'm far from that, but fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Sorry for the cliche's.

I'm a glass half full guy too. I've thought about the B1G tourney as well. While I'd love to rock it I can't get past the fact that we'd have to shoot 3's well for 4 straight games to win it and I don't see us doing that. Our record has proven that when we hit some 3's we can beat anyone. It's the key for me.
Go hoosiers!

Yes I guess maybe I am. Remember though we are nearing March, when anything is possible. :)

IU has won 7 of 9 games this year when they've shot over 36.5% from 3.

Maybe, just maybe this team isn’t as talented as some (not all) think they are.
Maybe, just maybe what you see is what you get.
We are not talking about a couple bad games where the shots were not falling or the game could have gone either way.
They have been beaten soundly at home and away by teams we are led to believe have less talent, maybe that’s not the case.

I use to be a negative person who totally hated losing and if my team lost I was horrible to be around so maybe I have went way to far the other way. Use to when my teams lost I would say something like there is no place in this earth for losers but when I my kids were young I did not want them to have that mentality. When I would play pickup basketball with friends and my team was losing I had the mentality to do what it took to win but sometimes that did not make many friends.

Saying this I feel better now looking at things in a more positive light and can enjoy myself more watching games even when we suck.

Would have never beat Marquette, Louisville, at MSU or Butler

I feel like tonight is a make-or-break game for the IU team this season. Home against the hated boilermakers. The crowd, I hope, will be insane. The team, I hope, will play like at MSU. If not, bench the guys who wont b back and start on next year.

Make or break? That was the OSU game last week.

... and the game before that, and the game before that, and the game before that...

The season is lost for anything meaningful. People here like to chide Purdue over these rival games being their Super Bowls, but in my mind, this is this teams' Super Bowl. Don't even talk about winning the B10 tourney. Beat PU, hope no one else gets hurt, play cohesively for the rest of the year and get experience for the returning underclassmen is about all the good I can see coming from this season.

This is a wiki page on the big ten tournament, going on since 1998. IU is at the bottom of everything. Even Rutgers has a better winning percentage than IU. It’s depressing.

That sounds about right. We pretty much stink as a program. We have for 25 years. Some people are just now realizing this. They have been duped by the P.T. Barnum and Ringling Bros. of athletic directors.

When you are the only “show in town,” the university can keep selling the clown car routine as long as suckers are willing to pay for it.

Chicago Cub syndrome. Decades of futility, nothing changed until new owners showed up with one motivation- Win big. Not just fill seats and charge $10 for crappy beer and be content with 1-2 decent seasons every decade.

What if we lose by 30 tonight?

I totally agree, the talent is not there, well at least not the kind of talent we need to run this system.

Then we do. Sun will come up tomorrow and life will move on. I will be disappointed because I think we will at least play hard tonight, but I will not lose a wink of sleep on it. I used to when I was younger, but not anymore. I will again root for them the next game.

That was Nebraska back on 01/14. The realistic chance IU would have in making the NCAA would be to win 5 of the last 6 games. I give that about a 1% chance of happening.

If we come out and give up four or five three pointers in the first 5 or 7 seven minutes the game is over.

The first 5-7 minutes of this game will be crucial. If we can get to the 12:00 minute mark of the first half with a lead, that would be big. Team must play hard enough and well enough not to lose the crowd.

Would like to think the law of averages works in IU's favor the rest of the season, but nothing we've seen since January suggests it's going to get better.

It may be that Archie tied his own hands by bringing in Tom Crean's last class. Too many projects, not enough legit size, and not enough shooters. We all hoped Morgan with the freshmen could overcome everything. They could not.

My glass was half full as well, then the Minny game made me chug it down.

Maybe the crowd needs to rush the floor if we lose and tear the joint apart.

I thought I have seen that point several times this year. This is a game to either rebound or set a new low.

This team can no longer disappoint me. The team at MSU and at Minnesota looked like 2 different teams. I expect one of those 2 teams to show up tonight. If I see Green or Smith turn the ball over in the first possession again and give up a layup or three pointer, I'll know which one showed up. I have seen that team too often.

A friend of mine offered me two great seats for tonight's game. (I don't have tickets of my own)
Normally I would kill for the chance to go to an IU/pu game, but I just didn't think I could bear to watch it in person.
No one wants to see a grown man cry, or scream & make a fool of himself, so I had to turn them down.:(

You wouldnt have been alone. I know IU’s season was over long ago but I see this game testing the mettle of our program. Do we win and have hope for the future or do we lose, go out in the parking lot and tip Assembly Hall over on its side?
