Hahaha. Purdue yet to commit a foul

3 Second Rule:
"The countdown starts when one foot enters the restricted area and resets when both feet leave the area"

3:34 left in the game.... Smith dribbling the ball near the half court line..... Edey is standing at the top left corner of the free throw lane, right foot in the paint.... left foot out...... he stood there for at least 7 seconds.

According to the rule.... BOTH FEET have to leave the lane to reset the count.
This is not the rule....One foot in, one foot out---lift the foot that is in, and the count restarts. NCAA is the only level that has this rule. Now as for the play you are talking about, I dunno. But I wll say this---If you want three seconds called on a guy while the guard is dribbling the ball at the mid-court line, with no offensive engagement, than good luck with that---Games would take 5 hours.

Also know----When a post player receives a pass, the count is suspended. He has an opportunity to try and score---if he passes it out, count picks back up.

It looks like you are following the NCAA rule for the women's game. Believe it or not, there is a difference between the men's and women's games. Please refer to the differences on page 6 of this attachment, (see link).

Men's Game: One foot out and one in the air is considered out of the free-throw lane to avoid a three-second violation.

Women's Game: Both feet must be placed on the court outside the free-throw lane to avoid a three second violation.

This will probably, hopefully, explain the major misunderstanding in the collegiate 3-second rules.

C’mon - I hate Purdue as much as the next guy but this is their year. They have a generational big man who is as dominant as anyone I’ve seen in decades. They will win by double digits on Monday because they are playing the best right now.
UCONN will have no answer for the big Asian Sensation.

And, it will be the event that puts the final nail in Woody’s coffin as he had no chance to gain any ground on recruiting after that hits. Actually, regardless of what happens, IU is already in deep shit in this conference.
Simply an accurate observation...

None of our Final games were ever reached by this easy a path...

They may well have had the easiest path anyone has ever played to reach the Final...
