Today I saw something we have been missing over the last few years. A team that was playing for each other instead of players playing for themselves. Best game by IU since Vic and Cody. Everyone that played brought something to the team. SR didn't have much of a stat line but his D denying the ball disrupted UI's offense. Max played great and so on. Coach doesn't get enough credit for how he is handling this team. He is definitely not tolerating much and going to the bench no matter who it is. I think by far this is coach's best year at IU with good but not great talent. This TEAM enjoys playing together. Kinda reminds me of years ago with a coach getting the most out of players. Love watching this team play together. GO HOOSIERS !!

Coach Crean's best season coaching at IU
This season has been fun to watch players develop, perform their role with passion and competitiveness, and not turn the ball over by valuing the basketball, and shooting the ball this season has greatly improved.
This season has been fun to watch players develop, perform their role with passion and competitiveness, and not turn the ball over by valuing the basketball, and shooting the ball this season has greatly improved.
It's interesting that coaching becomes better as the talent also becomes better. A coach's biggest challenge is to recruit great talent, help them improve,and then get them to play up to their ability. This team differs from last year in that they shoot a whole lot better, and particularly from three. They've cut down their turnovers, and as a team, rebound the ball better as well.
They are a cohesive team and, all things considered, Crean has been better because his talent is better and playing to their abilities, something Crean and his staff should get kudos for.
In the past, we've not had the shooting depth this team displays. On a few nights, that shooting is off and that's when Crean also appears to have an off night. Funny how that works.

This seems to be the way Cream likes to play ... not that he wouldn't want a center or pf ... but he seems to really know how to win/play with this type of line-up.
