Great CBS Piece on Cig & IU

To be honest, early in coaches tenure, the way he was talking made me nervous. I was hopeful he would turn out to be a good coach but it's a fine line between crazy and genius. The things he was saying would eventually go one of two ways. If he lost, he would be ostracized and cast aside as a bit unstable or odd. If he won, he would come across as a mad genius. We now know how this has panned out.

To that, regardless of his success, I didn't know way his public persona or interview chops would go. I have been highly impressed with his ability to be incredibly confident, even brash at times, yet be polite and offer humility (and even humor) in his perspectives. Not only that but has he ever turned down an interview request at IU? It doesn't seem like it and as a poster above already stated, it helps improve the Indiana brand.

Pay this man!

We've got more FB press this year than what seems like our entire history. Should make recruiting easier.

Also good for IU overall -- the old Flutie effect to some extent.
If you didn't know better, you'd think that was a recruiting video produced by the school.

Ratings in the 3:30 time slot are tricky when Alabama and Ohio State aren’t on the menu.

But it’s probably not all about ratings hype. There are a number of genuine story lines to report.
