Great Atmosphere today. Big let down at the end.

3 quarters toe to toe but offense is terrible and left the D out in the wind.
I agree. I thought every other aspect of IU's play today was solid - even the play calling was noticeably better. But there really is nothing you can do when your O-line cannot block at all. Anyone who ever played qb or coached an offense knows that there was nothing that could really be effective and nothing Bazelak could do when every play was a jailbreak- especially when we got behind the chains and their guys could pin their ears back.

Our inability to have any chance of winning begins and ends with our OL. While we are deficient in some other areas ( no true pass rush e.g.), we hung with a very good team for 3 1/2 quarters in spite of not being able to muster any offense at all.

It would be great if Dolson would take the lead and tell TA tomorrow that Hiller is done. I'm convinced that one of our GAs could take over that position group and get them to perform just as well.

One word: Dare

As in……I dare you to find a worse offensive line in all of college football.

To be fair, Allen does sound like he's getting to the point where he's becoming very fed up with what his post-game comments about it were. It definitely should have come quicker, but maybe there is a change coming down the line sooner rather than later. Dopirak didn't seem to think an in-season change was out of the question in his Q&A article, and up to now his stance had been that Tom would never do that.

The only problem is that firing Hiller probably doesn't actually do all that much to help this season, if anything at all in the short-term. Might take some pressure off from the fans, but not sure it'll actually help that group on the field any this season. We'll still have the same pieces out there who've all gotten the same coaching from him. And we keep losing guys to injury upfront, too, including another one today, which is one place we very much cannot afford it.

Carey couldn’t be any worse, even if thrown into the fire mid-season. Allen can’t let this OL shitshow continue.

I remember plenty of comments from many posters about Peyton Ramsey and his toughness. What about this guy? Pressure, hurries, sacks all day long. Kid is tough as nails.

First I’ve heard someone mention the offense actually looking pretty solid, which it did most of the first half (even though it only resulted in 10 pts) I noticed some really nice schemes from Walt Bell. That screen play action with Simmons and Henderson, allowing the tight end to block on the edge. An “extension” of the running game. And then the concept of the tight end faking the block and going on a wheel route. Really nice. Walt Bell is not the problem. I’ve seen some really nice things from the offense this year. My only complaint for Walt Bell is the painful 2nd and long run plays up the middle. But I get it, you have to keep the defense honest. You can’t pass every single play or the defensive back end players will sit down and jump routes…which we’ve seen before. Keep giving the ball to Lucas, Henderson, Simmons, Camper. Only shot we have.

I give Baze credit for that. Just like we can see real Penix now that he has time to throw, it would be interesting to see how Baze or even Tuttle could do with a true pocket and ability to throw without having to run for your life or get crushed. (Remember Tuttle drove them to a TD pass last yr bs Ohio State but he had to stand in pocket of his TD throw and got crunched by 3 DL and was then out for the game.). Allen’s allowing Hiller to get the line to this level of ineptitude is so infuriating. It’s literally near the very bottom of all D1 football! Let that sink in.
