Goode is fine given his experience at Illinois.
I’d prefer to move on from Leal. I don’t want him spreading Woody-itis in the locker room and frankly I don’t like him very much. But, if CDD is okay with him I’d get over it. I guess he can defend.

The Goode part of that has been known since the end of the season.
Leal is news to me, but I don't see how that would work. He's got his 5 years and was never hurt. He needs to go focus on his post basketball future.

As one of the resident Leal apologists on this board... even I am ready for him to start what I'm sure will be a very successful real estate career.
Neither of these players are value-added. So I guess we can take a sentimental journey, and raise a glass to "Auld Lang Syne".

Quick look at the roster from Crean's first year and there were a couple. Not as wild as playing for 1 of the 3 coaches for 4 years though.
I suspect he is pretty busy not only with the Realtor group but far more interesting is Motion Sports which he co founded. Software that allow student athletes, coaches and administrators manage everything from scheduling, compliance, roster management and NIL.
If Leal is on the roster we don’t make the tournament. Why would a coach want a culture of losing back? All Leal has done is get coaches fired, DD can be the third if he has Leal on the squad.

Leal could actually be honored at Senior day, three yrs straight. Even Jess Settles couldn’t pull that off.

There's really no thread, that I can think of, that would lead to Leal getting another year of eligibility. Even IF the courts rule in favor of the 5th year, he'd have to get the NCAA to rule that the year he only appeared in 11 games, could be a redshirt year. The NCAA would be salty over the 5th year court rulings, I'm sure. So basically zero chance they'd grant him another year.
So...I suspect, whoever linked Leal with Goode in all this originally, is trolling.

I laugh at all realtors. 90% of them are useless, do nothing except show up at closing to get their check.

IU isn't going to fair well against big front courts if they end up with those two. Any foul trouble by Bailey,Harris and the other guy and IU is very small. Bigs will eat them alive.
I would take another year of Luke. He was only guy on team last year that consistently was 100% on board.
Another big, that fits CDD's program, would obviously help. But we have effective length at the 1-4 positions, so if/when needed, we can go with Bailey/Alexis/Harris 5 man rotation. That's plenty of depth. An injury to one of them mainly just limits the amount of time we could play 2 of them on the floor at the same time. We're not in any sort of desperate situation, big men wise.

Forget foul trouble, what about injury? No way he's going into next season with this as his frontcourt unless he just runs out of options. In that case, Goode would make a lot of sense. He battles and might do better against bigger opponents, than smaller quicker ones. And, he can shoot. Great guy to have out there with other shooters. Someone will always be open. I'd guess we sign some sort of additional frontcourt option and still take Goode if he is available.
I thought Gallo & Leal were as well. Rest of them at times were like, just give me the money.

The NCAA is a total joke and probably will give run it back a sixth year. These guys really should not still be playing college ball at 24 and 25 imo but the NCAA makes it very easy for them to do so.
And we have three guys over 6'7 it seems and that is it. I get small ball but man who is going to guard the 7 footers on Wisconsin and 7'3 guy on Purdue. If Bailey goes down our tallest guy is 6'8.
