GAME THREAD: IU 41 @ Northwestern 24. FINAL.

Next game's QB is going to be more of the same. Very athletic and shifty... makes some throws. would be huge to roll the next three going into Meatchicken game.

Too much zone D today.

Our zone D is notoriously soft. Its typically what fueled the 2nd quarter lapses early on.

Okay...

Aside from the run game we played just average or below and still won going away...

Next game is the start of what I consider the difficult part of the Big Ten schedule...

The jury is still out on whether we have a real Big Ten quality Defense...

We'll need one from here on out...

Bowl Eligible early... Nice... 😎🍺🍺🍺

I’m glad we have a week off to work on the defense.

I’m not sure how these harder games will go, but we have some firepower.

Nebraska has a mediocre offense and a good defense. Kind of like a better version of Northwestern. They’re beatable.

Nebraska has a very good QB who sometimes plays like s true freshman and has good receivers...
Also a very good D line...
Should be interesting...

We need a s.r.o. Full House at The Quarry for a real Homefield Advantage to help win that one...

We'll need to tighten things up on both sides of the ball, especially on the Defensive side of things..., to bring home the Big Win on Homecoming...

That's the game where some more of our guys can Prove they truly belong in the Big Ten and that the rest of the BT needs to start taking them seriously... (in my opinion [ we've beaten the teams we should have beaten to date]..).

The D lacks speed in the backfield and LB's.
Teams will double team Kamara or run away from him.
NW had two weeks to prepare their game plan .
Will be nice to see IU have two weeks to prepare.

Bowl committees also look at how you finish the season. The total wins is a marker for sure, but we also need to finish strong. We have played two teams that had a bye week just before playing us and now with our bye week, Nebraska has a bye week as well.

Wonder who will have more fans in the stand in a couple of weeks, Nebraska or IU? Nebraska will fill it up unfortunately.
Nebraska travels well. That is also something the bowl committee looks at- will fans travel? Travel means money to the bowl town and the bowl committee

Wanna bet there will be more IU fans?

It will be something like 20% Nebraska fans. Not much we can do about that, they’re one of the best, if not the best, traveling fanbases.
They are and deserve credit. But there is no other distraction for them. No pro basketball, baseball, football, no beaches, no mountains to ski, just the university. But regardless, they do support their cornhuskers and do travel. Hope we show up at home and are loud.
