Each of the four lower seeded teams in the first round was allocated only 3,500 tickets which have to shared with player families and band and others too.

Notre Dame was allotted 74,000 tickets for the IU game. This means that Notre Dame alone received five times as many tickets as the total allocated to the four lower seeded teams in the first round (14,000 total).
