GAME THREAD: IU 15 @ OSU 38. FINAL.

We are hanging on. I’m not gonna say we’re scared…but at some point talent matters.

Rourke is done.

Mind fcvkd....

Two terrible mistakes killed this team today

Bomba's procedure penalty when he lost the snap count at 3rd and one.

Of course the inexcusable killing mistake by the punter..

Special teams....

Wonder what the coaching staff spent two weeks on?
It wasn't blitz pickup..

Wish we could have stayed more patient with the run game. For my eyes our LOS push was pretty good all game.

Those outside blitzes were easy to spot. Could have designed an audible for Rourke to pull it and run up the middle for a few yards and live to make it on another down.

Stock Down - - Rourke
Stock Up - - Howard

Man, across the board, I can't believe how much our passing game --QB, receivers, O-Line, and probably staff-- all tanked today.

This proves the fools gold that comes with playing a weak schedule. Other than backing out of Louisville, SOS is not IU's fault, but it is still true that we beat no one of consequence.

We did beat up on who we played.

Bad day. But it was at Ohio State. Well learn. Need some luck with the playoff…

Complete breakdown in every phase of the game. After a huge contract... back to reality for IU football. The mistakes are what killed this team, not superior talent.
Stop this nonsense. They are number 2 for a reason. We played piss poor. They had something to do with that. Ole Miss was vying to take our CFP spot. They just lost to 5-5 Florida. That’s the team they were pushing to replace IU in the CFP. They have 3 losses. They out. Now, you are a basketball only guy talking shit. Typical. Reality is you should worry about Woody’s contract, not Cig’s. Dumbass.

Or next year.

The only real disappointment was the pass blocking, both O and D. The inability to pickup and stop their blitz or rush Howard. O line opened some holes and our rush game was acceptable but man the pass blocking was ugh-LEE I was surprised.
The IU Offensive staff never figured out the stunts and blitz defense today. Seems as if the QB lost a lot of yardage not pitching it out of bounds when blitzed. The extra .3 quickness advantage of 4/5* athletes was pretty dramatic. Losing Drew was part of the problem x 3 games.
Can Michigan beat the Bucks? Only result that puts IU in the B18
Championship game.

We’ll have one last chance to beat a team of consequence in a bowl game. We have not won a bowl game since 1991. It will be very important that this team, for the sake of its fandom’s psyche, to win the game.

As long as we beat Purdue.
Yes, and the “Spoilermaker’s” task just got a little easier thanks to us looking ahead, past them as if victory is a given. Beware of their Devin “Crazy Legs” Mockobee. He’s a shifty cat, tough to bring down. It’s why I hate the guy.

Really? This message board looking ahead, makes Purdue's task easier?

What power.

I’m still not convinced we’re in. At least with a bowl game we have a chance to end our great season on a high note, with a victory.
I hope we get in the CFP. But I'm very happy for either result. If we beat Purdue and are 11 and gosh darn 1 ! Nice!

The extra game is a nice bonus. I can see the idea of a nice bowl, as long as it's against a team that wants to be there too. Won't like it as much if it's a power who feels it's beneath them, and their fans and players don't show out. That's one reason, along with prestige, I prefer the CFP .

The possibility of a mental letdown after such a big game, garnished with anticipation of a playoff position, exists with fans AND players. I’ve been witnessing Bucket games since the early 60’s and have learned that strange things can happen in this rivalry game. Plus, freezing temperature potentially makes for unusual circumstances.
