IU goes 1, 2, 3
FA gets a lead-off HR to take the lead; hit batter and singles load the bases for the Owls. Saalfrank enters in relief for the Hoosiers (no outs). Another FA run scores on a BB; DP ball to the 3rd baseman and a FO ends the rally.
IU has to find their bats and string some hits together. GBR!

Go Hoosiers!

Two down, Miller bunts to 3rd and reaches on a hit. Offense not getting it done today; 8 innings: 1, 2, 3 in 3 innings and only send 4 to the plate in 4 innings.
FAU string 3 singles and get an insurance run.
9th inning: Sowers walks, Fineman FO, Bradley (ph) FO and Stratten Ks to end the game.
Back in action tomorrow afternoon; hope they find their bats.

Hoosiers Fall to FAU, 6-2; Rubber Game at Noon on Sunday

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Indiana baseball (3-3) fell to the Florida Atlantic Owls, 6-2, on Saturday afternoon to even the series at 1-1.

Luke Miller drove in both of Indiana's runs on a home run in the third inning and provided three hits in the effort.

Tim Herrin tossed the first four innings and mixed six hits with two strike outs to go along with four runs. Andrew Saalfrank came into the game in the fifth inning and went the final four innings and struck out four.

Two first inning hits mixed with a walk allowed the Owls to score the game's first run in the opening frame. Herrin was able to force a groundout to Tony Butler at first base to strand two runners.

Miller's two-run home run in the third inning gave Indiana a one-run lead. With two outs, Alex Krupa beat out an infield single before Miller turned a ball over the right field wall.

Two solo home runs to lead off the bottom of the third and fifth innings gave Florida Atlantic a 3-2 lead. The Owls would add two more runs in the fifth inning for a 5-2 advantage. Saalfrank forced a double play to escape the inning.

Florida Atlantic tacked on an unearned run in the sixth and another run in the eighth for a 6-2 final.

Indiana looks to win the series tomorrow with a first pitch time scheduled for noon.

Game Notes: Luke Miller recorded his fourth career three-hit game and his first of 2017…It was Miller's 14th career multi-hit game…Miller's two-run home run in the third inning was the second of his career…The sophomore has reached base in five-straight games…Craig Dedelow extended his hitting streak to four games...Indiana wore the Script Gray jerseys.
