Stiever is off to a good start, scattering two hits over three innings. IU scored one in the 2nd and five in the 4th, with five of the six runs being earned.

USD got on the board with an earned run in the 4th on a leadoff triple and a SF bringing the run in.

IU tacked on two more runs in the 5th on a two-out double by Dunham and a Fineman HR. USD made a costly error, their 3rd of the game, in between the double and the HR, when they dropped a foul ball. We chased USD's starter who came into the game with a 0.61 era.

A really shaky 6th inning for Stiever as USD loaded the bases with no outs. We ended up giving them three runs with two of them unearned. One of the runs came on a catcher's interference with the bases loaded. Stiever was pulled for Kryzsko with two outs in the inning and Kryzsko got a strikeout to end the inning.

Seemed like Stiever got rattled after that lead off bunt and the hit and run. That was disappointing........

IU got back two of those three runs they gave up in the 6th. In the 8th after one out, a walk and a hit batter put two on, and they both scored on a double by Lloyd. Six outs away from a series opening win. However, I remember a couple of games last year where we fell apart in the ninth. The final game of the Hawaii series immediately comes to mind.
