From reading threads the past few days I see that the same opinions exist on Dear Leader

Does she need some recommendations on some other organizations doing great things when she might focus her efforts? There is no shortage…

She is passionate about refugees. She planned to go into sports marketing. Had internships lined up for summer 2020…. When the world ended she had a lot of extra time and volunteered for World Relief. Tutored a Congolese girl in English living in Spartanburg and learned how her family had arrived in the USA. Fell in love with the program and the rest is history. She’s not just some do gooder that’s going to join PETA. Now I know most people don’t give a fvck about what these refugees endure before they get here, but that’s their own problem. Unfortunately it’s nearly impossible to truly help without being employed by an NGO because only a few select organizations are approved by the government to resettle.

She/you didn't know she was involved in a ponzi scheme to import Democratic voters...you thought it was "for the good".

That said, you come here announcing some self-righteous awareness, looking for combat, when you have simply been duped by un-American grifters, using your daughter as a pawn, to turn America into a shithole like Europe.

Yeah, count me among those that don’t give a fvck about what they endure. I’m sure it’s awful, but there are people within our borders that need help just as badly, but that probably doesn’t pay as well & certainly doesn’t sound as good at parties full of liberals. I hope that people who are passionate about these causes give every last dime & minute to help these people, good on them, but that’s not where I want my money going.

I’ve met a lot of her clients. She’s going great things. Being a good Christian and following biblical principles is not being a “bleeding heart”. You are proving your absolute ignorance. Why does it bother you so much what other people think? Everyone is entitled to think how they want to think whether you agree with it or not. I disagreed with almost everything biden did but what can you do.

Regardless of how authoritarian he is becoming. Forget the fact that there is fraud and waste that need to be expunged. This is definitely true. But usurping the constitution isn’t the way to go about things. How apoplectic would Trump’s disciples be if a lib was doing this. We should all be apoplectic at any leader trying to break down the kchecks and balances our founding fathers were astute enough to put in place. It doesn’t bother me what Trump is doing because he’s a buffoon and predictable. It bothers me how many citizens are ok with this destruction of our republic

Picked these two posts from the thread because each brought up a sense of frustration which got me thinking.

Bailey mentioned he didn't agree with Biden but decided there nothing he could do. Why is asks why people are accepting what he describes as a breakdown of the checks and balances the founders gave us.

In reading these posts my thoughts went back to the Watergate Hearings and the ultimate impeachment of Nixon, and the election of Jimmy Carter afterwords along with how Carter was treated by Congressional members of his own party.

Finally, my thinking pondered on how the country's political outlook has changed.

My conclusions on the changes which have taken place can generally be summed up as follows. Today Democrats and Republicans elected to Congress put loyalty to party above serving the notion that even a president of his own party cannot have everything he wants. Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with a congressman returning home and telling the people of his own party why he objected to policies put forth by a president of his own party.

In other words, where are the Republican Lowell Weiker's and Howard Baker's who stood up to Nixon, and the Democrat Tip O'Neil's who questioned Jimmy Carter and his Georgia Mafia.

My daughter did a mission trip for an oranization started by 2 IU grads in Cincinnati, called Back2Back. They work to help orphanages in 3rd world countries.

Now, I support their efforts with donations and really admire their courage into going into these areas.

But their organization requires - REQUIRES - their employees to raise their own money for their salary and to give to the organization. When I retired, I volunteered my IT services when they were looking for an IT manager - totally free. No, I had to fund raise for them. Same with my daughter on her mission trip - she had to raise funds for her trip, which I understand. But to require employees to raise funds? Something fishy there.

I realize money is required - I'm not naive enough to think it's going to magically appear. I just think it's weird how some of these organizations are run.
