Indiana officially added Tamar Bates and Miller Kopp to the roster as both were officially signed this past week. Both committed to IU the week before. IU has all 13 scholarships filled at the moment.
This weekend will be one of the last major 'can't miss' AAU events until the summer. Run N' Slam in Ft Wayne will take place with numerous Indiana targets in action. Among those are four-star Gary West (IN) forward Jalen Washington (Meanstreets), four-star Whitney Young (IL) forward AJ Casey (Meanstreets), three-star Yorkville (IL) High wing Jaden Schutt (Illinois Wolves), Glenbard West (IL) High forward Braden Huff (Illinois Wolves), Wauwatosa East (WI) wing Leon Bond (JH1), three-star IU commit and Lawrence North (IN) guard CJ Gunn (Indy Heat) and more.
I am excited to get a look at Jaden Schutt. He is a big time scorer on the wing and continues to impress with his play over the last 3-4 months. As a note, Dane Fife was his lead recruiter at Michigan State.
Here is a good look at Schutt's game and overall recruitment: https://minnesota.rivals.com/news/target-profile-jaden-schutt
We will have full coverage all weekend and into next week as well.
Before we get into some of the other names you know or we have talked about, there is a new name on the radar as well. NAIA All-American forward EJ Onu from Shawnee State is on the transfer market, according to ESPN's Jonathan Givony.
"At 6'11, with a 7'6 wingspan, Onu will be heavily recruited after shooting 40% for 3 and averaging 4.5 blocks. Texas Tech, Indiana, Ohio State and LSU have already expressed interest," Givony said.
"If I return to school, I'm looking for a team in which I can be myself and play how I play and win games," Onu told ESPN. "The big factor in my decision is my development; how ready a team could get me for the next level."

In the past week, IU has extended offers to 2022 four-star Menomonee Falls (WI) PG Seth Trimble and 2022 three-star Wilbraham and Monson Academy (MA) PF Kyle Filipowski.
On Seth Trimble, he is the younger brother of former UNC wing JP Tokoto and you can clearly see the similaireis in their games. Trimble is an extremely athletic guard who can play both the point and off of the ball. He is a true combo guard. As of now, his recruitment is very wide open so if there was any good time to jump into the race, it would be now.
Trimble averaged 23.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last year. He also shot 54.6 percent overall from the field, 35.1 percent on 3's and 75.2 percent from the free throw line. He holds offers from Purdue, Wisconsin, Marquette, Iowa State, Arizona State, California, Creighton, Illinois, Iowa, USC, Nebraska and TCU. This is a Yasir Rosemond offer.

WIth Kyle Filipowski, he has emerged as one of the hotter names over the past few months. Through two AAU weekends, he has racked up even more offers, including Indiana. This is a prior relationship with Dane Fife when Fife was at Michigan State.
Filipowski on Fife: "We have been developing our relationship for a few months now and it is getting tighter and tighter which is good to see. I'm looking forward to keeping that going with him."
Indiana's most recent offers have been to athletic guards and stretch/hybrid 4's. That hybrid forward position is what Filipowski is. He can stretch the floor, shoot 3's, has good athleticism and can take his defender off of the dribble at times too.
On his game: "The type of player I am, I can fit into any style of play with my versatility and size and still being able to guard multiple positions and stretch the floor and shoot the three. I can also handle the ball, play inside, all of that makes me a threat. It gives me the ability to play in any system which I'm okay with."
He told us that he has official visits setup to Syracuse the first weekend of June, Ohio State the second weekend of June and then an unofficial visit to UConn the end of June. He said he is looking at Iowa, Indiana and UCLA as potential official visits too.
This is one to continue monitoring. He's very interesting in Coach Woodson's system and style of play.
An old name is 2022 four-star wing Justin Taylor. Taylor was offered a scholarship from the previous staff and Kenya Hunter was his lead recruiter. They remain in contact and it was reported that Taylor had a Zoom on Wednesday with the new coaching staff. UNC was as close to an early lock for Taylor before the Roy Williams retirement. It is much more open now. UNC, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Virginia are teams in a good position. He has official visits scheduled for UNC and Syracuse right now for June.

A newer name to monitor is 2022 PF Reed Bailey. Bailey plays for Brewster Academy (MA) and is AAU teammates with Alex Karaban. We touched on him in our recruiting notes during last weekend's Midwest Mania event.

He told TheHoosier.com that he had previous contact with the prior coaching staff. He hasn't heard from the new staff at this moment but after his performance last weekend, I would expect his recruitment to take off this summer.
Butler, Xavier and Cal are some new programs to reach out to Bailey. He has high-major offers from Boston College and Rhode Island. Also has numerous mid-major offers as well. His game fits the same position and skillset that IU is going after.
"I’m a tall, athletic, long wing that can do it all. Put it on the floor, shoot the ball, and post up when needed. I can also defend positions 2-5 and think I can just do whatever a program needs me to," Bailey said of his game.
"Over the past year I definitely think it’s my IQ and overall feel for the game," Bailey said of what he's improved most. "I feel like I’ve always had the skill to get things done but now just being a better basketball player and knowing how to use my skill set, has improved so much. I think one of the main reasons for that is being at Brewster."
2023 La Lumiere (IN) PG Jeremy Fears was another player we talked about in our live thread from the Midwest Mania event last weekend. IU has yet to offer but is in communication with his dad and coaches. June 15 is the start of the live period when coaches can start to have direct contact with class of 2023 recruits. Until then, it has to go through coaches or parents.
Fears on IU's communication: "My dad said the communication with IU has been amazing. He talks to Brian Walsh often and now coach Fife as well."
There is mutual interest between the two and Fears is very much interested in Indiana. He holds offers from Gonzaga, Illinois, Creighton, Maryland, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Iowa.
