Indiana's big win last night was not only important for Mike Woodson, but also this program as a whole. You all know the stats behind the series, especially recently, and for Mike Woodson to have his team ready to play and compete without its star player in Trayce Jackson-Davis... that's tremendous and a huge confidence builder moving forward.

For Rob Phinisee... you can't be happier for a guy. The time, hard work and everything he has put into this team, to see him have the performance he did last night against his hometown team was great.

Indiana is back in action on Sunday against Michigan, a team it hasn't won against in the last seven tries -- all double-digit losses.

If Indiana can win, it will be a three-game win streak and set up perfectly for the next two weeks. The next five games are: Michigan, Penn State, @ Maryland, Illinois, @ Northwestern. That is a very, very nice looking next two weeks for the Hoosiers who currently sit at 5-3.

After that stretch, it's @ MSU, Wisconsin, @ Ohio State. Sitting at 9-4/8-5 going into those three games would be huge and something IU can very well do.

The big visitor last night was 2023 point guard prospect MIro Little. The Finland guard was behind the IU bench and enjoyed every moment of the game. He was taking tons of pictures and videos throughout warmups, intros and was tuned in during the game.

After the game, he even went on the floor with the students.

He tweeted one word after the game ended that signified a pretty good feeling he had during that game... 'Crazy!!!'

Little is wrapping up his official visit this weekend, but that is a terrific way to begin the visit.

Little visited Baylor first and Villanova second. As of now, these look like the teams, along with IU, that he will decide from . I wouldn't expect a long decision making process with him and he should have a pretty good feel after this weekend which program sticks out.

It does seem to be Baylor, Indiana as 1A/1B in some order and then Villanova at 2. The next 24-36 hours are big for Indiana, but they have a lot of good momentum right now.

We will have more follow up after his visit wraps up.

Another visitor was 2023 commit Gabe Cupps. Cupps sat next to Little the entire game and also had a tremendous time.

During warmups, pregame videos and timeouts, Cupps was involved in every chant that was going on.

He and his dad told TheHoosier multiple times throughout his recruiting process that history was big for them and the tradition at Indiana was something that set the IU program apart from the rest.

Cupps on the visit: "it was amazing. Yeah super excited for that environment and that rivalry. One of the best in college basketball."

Cupps talking with Little: "Just about where he’s been and how the other schools have been. Also about how different IU is than all the rest. It was good."

It certainly doesn't hurt Little's recruitment having a guy like Gabe Cupps in his ear a bit last night during such a big game.

Small note...

Trayce Jackson-Davis was named a Third-Team Midseason All-American by the Sporting News this week.
