After a strong week in the Bahamas, Indiana returned to Bloomington as the semester gets underway next week.
The Hoosiers now turn their attention from on the court to recruiting - with two big recruiting updates happening this week. The big one is with top-35 guard Jalen Hood-Schifino making his college announcement on Tuesday (8/24). He has narrowed it down to Indiana and Tennessee.
Throughout much of the past few days, everything I have been hearing and have been told is Indiana is the team to beat. IU has done a phenomenal job in this recruitment over the last 1.5 months and made JHS feel like a top priority.
There are 5 FutureCast picks for JHS to Indiana at this moment and I don't think things will change over the weekend.

2022 top-55 big man Noah Clowney cut his list to 4 this week which included Indiana, Virginia Tech, Alabama and Florida.
Here is his visit schedule:
Indiana - Aug 27
Florida - Sept 3
Virginia Tech - Sept 10
Alabama - Sept 24
Clowney on Indiana: 'They have been honest with me, telling me I would play early and what I need to work on. Coach Woodson has been in the NBA, and he wants to bring that NBA to college, I like that.'
He plans on signing early (November) and will make his decision shortly after his visits wrap up.
Indiana has done a very good job lately in this recruitment. There will be a big need for someone who can come in and play significant minutes early as a freshman in Indiana's front court. That is intriguing to Clowney. But, IU will have to 'win' him over when it comes to system and style of play. Based off of what we saw in the Bahamas, it could be very intriguing to Clowney - someone who is an athletic big who can run the court and rebound and defend at a high level.
Rivals national analyst Jamie Shaw described his game.
"Clowney’s tool kit is vast and his ceiling is through the roof. Standing at a lengthy 6-foot-10, Clowney is incredibly mobile on the floor. He moves his feet well laterally and he has vertical pop to get to the top of the square. A rim protector who can move his feet, Clowney also can shoot from beyond the arc. He cuts well off movement and he rebounds."

2022 wing Brice Sensabaugh is going to cut his list from 8 to 4 this afternoon. Indiana was in his top-8 but as I said earlier this week, I wouldn't expect IU to make this top-4 for Sensabaugh.
Indiana was high on him when offering him in late June but how things progressed with Hood-Schifino and the fact they have CJ Gunn locked up, taking three guards in this class isn't something IU is looking to do.
There was some talk that Sensabaugh had an official visit planned for September for Indiana as of a few weeks ago, but like I said, the way things have progressed in the last 10-14 days, it doesn't appear IU has a legit shot in this one - nor is fully pursuing him as hard anymore.

As for scheduling, the 'official' non-conference schedule was finalized last week when we were told Eastern Michigan would be the season opener for Indiana.
Here is what the schedule looks like as of now:
Nov. 9 - Eastern Michigan
Nov. 12 - Northern Illinois
Nov. 17 - St. John’s (Gavitt Tipoff Games)
Nov. 30 - at Syracuse (ACC/Big Ten Challenge)
Dec. 12 - Merrimack
Dec. 18 - vs. Notre Dame (Crossroads Classic)
Dec. 22 - Northern Kentucky
Dec. 29 - UNC Asheville
TBD- Jackson State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Marshall
The expectation is at least one, if not two, of those TBD games will happen in mid-November.
