Fran and the PSU coach complaining about the BIG tournament

they think everyone should be invited, they kind of have a point. the BIG may be the only conference that is telling 3 teams you have no shot at the NCAA tournament. the SEC has 18 teams also, I don't think they are excluding the bottom feeders. watching Rutgers last night, I think they are borderline not making it, they could be dangerous
Agree with the exclusion thing, why? Makes no sense, other than scheduling and timing. But, whose fault is that? The teams? Nope. Some will just say, they should have just won more games. But, how about the teams that turn it around late. How many times has this happened? UConn wouldn’t have made the Big East Tournament based on these standards, lost 7 out last 11, 4 out last 5, then won 11 in a row on their way to a National Championship

But on another note, why does Fran care, hasn’t he gotten the memo yet?

Edit: UConn at #9 in Conf standings would have made the BIg East Tourney that year under current Big 10 rules, but you get my point.

Sec has 16. Acc has 17. Acc is only letting 15 in their tournament.

Here is a way You could run an 18 Team Tournament. Start the Tournament on Tuesday and play 2 Games - 18 Seed vs. 15 and 17 vs. 16. The lowest rated Winner plays the number 1 seed and second Team gets Number 2 Seed. On Wednesday, You play 4 Games - the two I mentioned, and the 3 - 14, 4-13 Seeds. The remaining 8 teams 5-12 through 8-9 play on Thursday. Now You are down to 8 Teams in the Quarter Finals for 4 games Friday. By Saturday You are down to 4 Teams for your 2 Semi-Final Games, and 2 Teams Sunday for the Championship.
A lot of the comments are Coach Speak for I didn't Coach my team well enough to get them in the Tournament, but the problem is the mean Big 10 excluded Teams from the Tournament and doesn't want Us to play for a Participation Trophy so I can cover my Ass. Hey. Your Schools voted for expansion and gladly accepted the Money from Conference entry fees and TV Revenue. This is part of the price You pay for that.

didn't know the acc was limited to 15 also, maybe that's the number that makes it practical for the top seeds to only have to play 3 games. I can see why you wouldn't want to make your top teams have to play 4 games in 4 days.

Be more meaningful if they'd complained before they were faced with not making it. It's a big "eh" for me. It's in our own control, so if you want to make it, go out and win games. Everyone had an equal shot to start. The likelihood of them making the tourney w a bottom 3 conference tournament is miniscule, as in, I doubt it's ever happened in the B10.

wasn't NC State pretty bad last year? then went on a miracle run to the final 4, not sure where they finished in the acc regular season, but seem to recall no way they were going to get in without winning the acc tournament

Well, you do not have to play the tourney in 4 straight days, can play it over 6 days if you want

Yes. They were losing at halftime of their Tuesday afternoon opening round game in the ACC. And then banked in a 3 at the buzzer to advance the next night. It was a miracle run.
