1. Teams should be seeded according to regular season ranking
2. Conference Championships should end- the first round could have been played this last weekend , not as cold up north. The ACC, Big10, and, SEC had both teams get in the playoff. What was the point of those games?
3. Use more doomed stadiums up north for second round games to help eliminate some travel.
4. Start night games at 7pm if game in EST zone.

I’d like to see the committee eliminate the 5th conference champion AQ (just keep it at 4 highest rated champions) and seed 1-12 just as the rankings appear.

To determine who wins the conference? With 18 teams, just going by regular season schedule doesn’t work.

Conference championships still matter to some of us.

I read that the Big Ten and SEC each makes somewhere between $40 and $60 million for their conference championship games. I’m pretty sure those aren’t going away.

If anyone has any information to refute that, I’m interested

Figured those would be offset by tv money and additional teams

Agreed

If IU had beaten OSU, then Oregon would’ve gotten the top seed and a bye, since they were ranked higher. Even though I don’t like championship games, it would’ve been needed in that situation.

3. Use more doomed stadiums up north for second round games to help eliminate some travel.

Personally, I prefer football be played outdoors, even in bad weather like snow and cold.

4. Start night games at 7pm if game in EST zone.

I can tell you’re getting old. Me too and want the game to be over by 11.

Article below quotes the $40M figure and talks about some other dynamics with the conference title games. Pretty interesting.

There was a clip on Twitter during Franklin’s press conference after last night’s game and the Oregon band was heard playing on the other side of the wall of this room. It was pretty audible. Franklin said “I don’t mind that the other team gets to celebrate but this is kind of a JV setup here.”

I’m not a Franklin hater like many are. I’m indifferent to him but I agree with him here. You mean to tell me that Lucas Oil doesn’t have a room for these press conferences that isn’t a bit more insulated, private and one where there isn’t a bunch of background noise.

On #2 very good possibility we would have moved past Oregon if we beat OSU on the road.
You might like it outdoors but in 27 degree weather most don't.
Anyway thanks for input. And I am getting tired of getting home at 2 in the morning.

I thought so too, but if the current setup nets only $115million for the entire 12-team playoff, then adding a couple of games isn't going to make up that difference. Maybe I misunderstood the economics though
