Fill me in...

We scored 78 points

so offense was not a problem. We hot 49% fro the field and went 13-24 from 3. We out rebounded them by 3 and we only had 11 to;s but we got outscored in the paint by 16 and outscored from the line by 19.

Terrible defense. Wisc shot over 60% from the field. Over 50% from 3.

Easy, open looks.

Their size killed IU inside.

IU was on fire in the first half to keep it close (Down 8 at half). Came out in the 2nd half, went a little cold and Wisc pulled away. Got the lead up to 32 before they started to back off their offense. IU started to hit some shots late to get it back under 20.

Game wasnt as close as the score shows.

A whole bunch of those came when it didn't matter.....

The last 10 or 12 minutes don't matter

True, but with the exception of the first 5 min of the 2nd half

Our offense was pretty dang good. 36 in the 1st half and scored what? 1 point in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half? It was a blowout ever since then so u could say the last 15 minutes didn't matter but in reality until like the under 4 timeout it's still a normal basketball game. By the under 4 all the end of the bench guys come in and it turns into wide open 3s and layups for us.

Offense certainly isn't an issue. Our team defense is so awful it hurts to watch. Pair that with some poor individual defenders and no post players and we can't stop a nosebleed. Idk what is being taught fundamentally as far as rotations and help side, if anything at all. Teams are scoring at an alarming rate on us and we will never win a dang thing playing defense like that.

Re: We scored 78 points

They were up 32 points with 10 min to go...Bo called off the dogs a tad. ITs like that 3 run HR late in the game when your down 12 runs.

Oh, and the first few minutes of the 1st half...9 - 0. And...

IU was missing 2 starters: Hanner and JBJ jr. And UW scored on offensive efficiency over 1.4...the highest ever, methinks, in Kenpom history. And it was 25 minutes into the game before IU got to the line. And our offense is so very darn good that players think that defense isn't needed. And some may claim a moral victory because we brought the game back to within 12 points after being down 30...somewhat because Vlad took his foot off of the pedal.

But we all love IU. Thank you sir, may I have another?

The good news is that the world keeps spinning. Our basketball program isn't going downhill...it just isn't going anywhere.

How long was IU stuck on 36 points?

The first ten minutes of the second half were hideous. The crazy 3 point percentage IU shot in the first half is what gave the appearance that it was a game at halftime. I certainly didn't think IU could continue that kind of shooting from the perimeter in the 2nd half.

I'll give credit that IU kept playing but like you said, it wasn't Bucky's starters that gave up the late IU run.
